Heib / Into the Dark EP (inc. Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner and Lula Circus remixes)

Vinyl

Minimood Extra / Released April 25th 2011

What does it sound like?

Minimal techno of the groove-driven variety, complete with spoken word male vocals that are all-too-familiar, yet here still made appealing. Both sides sit next to more complex arrangements, wherein the respective remixers add deeper moods, melodious synths, and strings; and then stepping, stripped electro. All of which is very well put together.

Where would I dance to it?

In a club during the late-warm up.

What highlights can I expect to hear?

First and foremost Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner’s excellent reworking of Shadows. Adding wooden percussion, abrupt, punchy snares and a gliding bassline makes it all the warmer.  We’d also point to the fantastic job Lula Circus have done on Silver Mine in order to bring the video game, 80s electro sentiment out of the source material- a shuffling, warbling, pot-banging and head bobbing treat make no mistake. The originals aren’t bad either, but that’s another story.

Why should I pay for it?

This kind of production value means money has been spent. Reciprocate.

Where can I buy it?

Quality record stores.
