Day Zero announces huge line up and packages…

On December 21st, at 18:11, the fifth and final cycle of the Mayan world cycle will end. At this moment a galactic alignment will occur: for the first time in 25,625 years Planet Earth will line up with the center of the Milky Way.

To mark this momentous occasion, DAY ZERO festival presents 24 hours of music, performing arts, installations, and spiritual teachings. This once in a lifetime event, by a Mayan pyramid in Playa Del Carmen, will bring together party people for 24 hours, ending at the exact moment the Mayans decreed as the end of this world cycle.

Day Zero offers a forward thinking line up of house and techno acts including Damian Lazarus, Fur Coat, Infinity Ink, Art Department, Subb-An and many more besides. The spirit of the Mayans will represented through dance-performances and Shamanic rituals during the festival, and there will be discussion, yoga, relaxation and spiritual awareness classes to help you forget your real world troubles.

Festicket.com is the official UK package provider. VIP and standard options include accommodation in Playa den Carmen, transfers to and from Cancun Airport, excursions to Chichen Itza Mayan temples, and culminate in the 24 hour Day Zero extravaganza.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Playa del Carmen in Mexico has become one of the world’s leading holidaydestinations for those seeking to combine pure paradise beaches with ancient Mayan temples. Day Zero Festival plays out by an ancient pyramid between two lakes in the historic centre of Mayan civilization.

Crosstown Rebels is a London-based record label run by Damien Lazarus. Over
the course of recent times the imprint has continued to unearth brand new talent from around the world including Art Department, Maceo Plex, Infinity Ink and more, releasing an incredible number of full length albums from such artists, most of which end up topping plenty of polls come the years end. So too does the label hold its own showcase parties around the world at BPM, WMC and many more.

Festicket.com is a new innovative booking platform allowing customers to book curated packages to music events, including hotels, tickets and add-ons – all on one website. ARTIST DETAILS:

3D (Massive Attack) vs James Lavelle (UNKLE)
As part of Massive Attack, 3D has been central to the Bristol trip-hop scene since the early 1990s, returning most recently with 2010’s Heligoland; as a solo artist he has worked on a film soundtrack for 2008’s Gomorrah, as well as providing vocals on two of Lavelle’s UNKLE releases. James Lavelle meanwhile set up the Oxford-based Mo’Wax label straight from school in the early 1990s, releasing DJ Shadow’s seminal Endtroducing… album, and working with Shadow as UNKLE. He’s been a constant presence at fabric – opening their fabriclive mix series – and recently launched the Daydreaming with… project, combining music with visual arts. Their performance at DAY ZERO will include re-edits of Massive Attack hits, cmbined with a visual show.

Jamie Jones has carefully crafted his own unique brand of creamy, sultry house and disco on labels like Crosstown Rebels and his own Hot Creations; he has gone on to introduce the world to plenty more like-minded artists through his labels, also finding time to mix it up for fabric in 2011. This summer saw the release of his next hotly anticipated full-length album, again on Crosstown Rebels, whilst his own Paradise events on Ibiza this year have been a talking point for most,

Subb-An has toured the globe taking his jacking house and tech sounds to places like Mexico, BPM, WMC and so many more clubs and festivals, at the same time as running his own well respected One Records imprint, and releasing on labels like Spectral, Saved and My Favourite Robot.
