Auspicious production duo Evans & waterfall here tackle the first release on Evan’s new imprint, Dilate Records, which aims simply to release a modern blend of house from artists old and new. It’s a sumptuous deep house track with a wavy, snaking bassline that really draws you in amongst the scattered percussion and jazzy little snare rolls.
Two fairly heavyweight remixers get drafted in – no mean feat on a debut release – and offer up two different but equally delicious remixes. First up is the LA trio behind influential label Culprit, Their remix is less direct, instead slowly working its way into your heart and mind with plenty of waify motifs and buried deep melody lines. Closing out a solid first release is the Adam Shelton remix. Known for a thick, heavy brand of tech house, it,s no surprise that’s what the One Recs boss serves up here. It’s meaty and mighty, frankly, and will certain get the floor in a sweat.
