James Zabiela’s Born Electric returns to London on 22nd Dec, with special guests DJ T., Pangaea plus many more…

After launching at London’s XOYO to tremendous effect, Born Electric returns to the Capital on Saturday 22nd December, this time hosted at Brixton’s outstanding auditorium Electric. Rocking all the way through to the early hours, Born Electric will feature James alongside some very special guests, delivering a diverse range of beats and cutting-edge sounds that fully illustrate the Born Electric vibe.

Returning to the UK for a very rare live set, Born Electric is delighted to showcase the unique talent that is The Advent. In a performance that is enough to raise the hairs on the neck of any techno fan, The Advent will show why he remains one of the genres greatest pioneers. A bona fide master of underground beats, The Advent has played a big part in the creation and development of techno from its very beginning. His determination to push techno to new levels is evident with his numerous releases on labels such as Drumcode and Tresor and remixes of the likes of Ben Sims, Green Velvet and Joey Beltram. With a long list of achievements under his belt, The Advent continues with as much passion and frequency as when he first started his illustrious career. On top of producing and touring around the world, he also runs his own techno imprint Kombination Research. As he moves forward, striving to fulfil the ambitious goals he has set, Born Electric will welcome The Advent on stage for an eagerly awaited performance.

For over 20 years, DJ T has been at the forefront of both electronic music and club culture. As co-owner of seminal label Get Physical (alongside M.A.N.D.Y.), T is recognised as one of the industry’s most influential figures and arrives at Born Electric off the back of the imprint’s 10th Anniversary celebrations. Throughout 2012, DJ T has been showcasing his sound across Europe, as well as stand-out performances at the likes of Fabric, Berghain, Space Ibiza, Sonar and Tomorrowland. DJ T is known for his fine selection of bass and groove, touching on different wave forms demonstrated throughout his illustrious career. Born Electric will provide the perfect setting for a trademark performance from one of the industry’s most loved figures.

Co-owner of Hessle Audio alongside Pearson Sound and Ben UFO, Pangaea also joins us at Born Electric. The label’s output of talent, quality and diversity has been second to none since its formation. Originally heavily involved in the dubstep and breakbeat scene, Pangaea has drifted towards a more house and techno sounding vibe, creating a more densely percussive hybrid sound. During 2012, he has performed at festivals such as Bestival, Dimensions, Pukkelpop and Lovebox, and released an eight track double EP. With much hype surrounding Pangaea and his current movement, this is a hugely anticipated addition to the Born Electric line-up.

Over the past decade, Glimpse has firmly established himself as one of the UK’s most imaginative, versatile and prolific producers. He has the ability to explore and manipulate different genres in his own inimitable style, leaving dedicated crowds begging for more. His diverse musical range of techno and deep organic house has gained him respect from a number of different sources, resulting in two successive nominations for DJ Mag’s ‘Best British Producer’ Award. Glimpse’s live shows have taken him through Europe’s clubbing meccas, as well as regular performances in South America, North America, Japan, and Australia. Furthermore, he has featured regularly at Space Ibiza’s Kehakuma parties and gained support from Carl Craig, Richie Hawtin and Sven Vath in the process. With no sign of slowing down, Glimpse’s performance at Born Electric is not to be missed.

Completing the diverse main room lineup will be ManMakeMusic and Brownswood Recordings producer Gang Colours. Raised on the bump and grind of UK garage, his music contains a distinctive bounce and rhythm. However it’s evident that Gang Colours is constructing his own personal spectrum of beats and basslines. His ability to manipulate simple drum beats into lengthy artistic productions is evidence of his musical brilliance, whilst his unique sound has been showcased at venues across the UK, including a recent ManMakeMusic showcase alongside George Fitzgerald. With a dramatically rising reputation, Born Electric will be taken on a musical voyage, leaving Electric Brixton in awe of his outstanding talent.
