Pete Tong goes ADE crazy…

Now a firm fixture within the ADE calendar, Pete Tong always arrives at Club AIR with a lot of fresh edits in his locker. With his exclusive ADE shows at the club he always delivers on music and line-ups and this year was no different. Fellow Radio 1 big hitter Skream, now departed from his dubstep roots, supported alongside Tensnake, Jaymo and Andy George, Ben Pearce and Ejeca.

Upon entering around midnight Ejeca was just finishing up with a set of subtle breaks whilst Ben Pearce dropped in a vinyl cut to start off his deep mix. Mixing a selection of vinyl classics with an array of cult CDs, he offered a perfect warm up for the main man Pete to arrive on cue to a near packed audience. Ben even played his famous big hitter ‘ What I Might Do’ to an amazing reaction from his onlookers.

By now the club was nearly at capacity, and as Pete arrived and took centre stage he took little time in dropping some early bombs of the more driving house variety upon the main floor. The back drop of screens that surrounded the central booth were in full flow as were the lasers, which amassed right back to the mixing desk. The legendary radio performer who now lives in LA always offers a plethora of genres to great reactions.

Skream then jacked things up with some disco joints, not the stereotypical selections but more direct and jacking. Rounding things off Tensnake closed proceedings out with his take on the current house sound. The Permanent Vacation producer famous for his live elements closed out the night with some fresh tracks forthcoming from him.

AIR always takes ADE seriously and always offers something different within their program. With a fine selection of artists across the board it was difficult not to pick out Tongy’s show as one of the major highlights.
