Parklife Weekender

Festival season is getting hotter and hotter by the day, but before you say we’re very London Centric with our weekenders, (don’t blame us, that’s where most of them happen!) there is also a tasty treat happening in Manchester on the 11th & 12th June, in the name of The Parklife Weekender.

Taking place in Manchester’s Platt field, Fallowfield, The Parklife Weekender is host to one of the tastiest dance music line-ups we’ve come across thus far this year. With arena’s being hosted by Chibuku, Simian Mobile Disco, Hospitality, Crosstown Rebels and Horse Meat Disco just to name a few, you can expect a broad range of bassline treats from house to techno to Drum and Bass.

Headlining the Saturday on the main stage are Katy B and Kelis amongst others, but we think it’s the other stages that really have the action happening, with Boyz Noize, Fake Blood and Modeselektor heading things up for Chibuku. Simian Mobile Disco’s Delicatessen is looking non too shabby also for the techno purists, with Adam Beyer and James Holden on duty, and for the bass heads there’s Sub Focus and Caspa & Rod Azlan over in Ape X and Andy C and London Elektricity over in Hospitality, and that’s just the Saturday!

Sunday see’s Chase and Status, Mark Ronson and Skream & Benga on main stage duty, with the Parklife big top playing host to 2ManyDJ’s, Erol Alkan and James Zabiela to keep the electro-tech kids happy, and a highlight on the Thrasher stage is DJ Shadow, fresh from what seems to be a never ending world tour. If it all gets a bit too four to the floor for a Sunday there’s a chance to catch Mystery Jets and Metronomy (whose new album is proving to be an essential summer soundtrack) to bring you back to earth.

Who says London has all the fun?

As we have it today there are only 500 tickets left, so those who aren’t already heading to Glade this weekend need to be quick.
