London’s highly accliamed purveyors of dancefloor soul, Tone Control (aka Si Finnegan and Marcus Harris) make a welcome return collaborating with vocalist James B. Coleman. Their 8th release on Tone Control Music, titled ‘Without Your Love’, sees James B. Coleman make a soulful declaration of love over Tone Control’s signature stepping, bass-heavy groove. Marcus brings his unique swinging drum patterns, whilst Nathan Thomas (from Love Over Money) delivers additional synth-Bass and Trumpets. The package includes a bumper set of remixes: DJ Spinna, turns in an epic and lush yet funky moog driven mix in his inimitable Galactic Soul style, whilst Tomson & Benedict (Freerange Records) step up with two deeper, darker and tech-ier mixes for the heads. In addition Si Finnegan and Nathan Thomas return in their Love Over Money guise to give the song an electronic boogie twist, enlisting Andy Compton (The Rurals) on guitar.

Tone Control have received support from heavy weight house DJ’s such as Kerri Chandler, Tony Humphries, Danny Krivit, Miguel Migs, Charles Webster, and Franck Roger while also finding favour with leftfield tastemakers such as Theo Parrish, Simbad, Bill Brewster, Domu and many more. Since their debut single on Grab Recordings and the inception of the Tone Control Music label in 2006, Tone Control came to wide critical acclaim in 2008 with their much-supported “Illusion” single, also featuring James B. Cokleman, along with their smash ‘Take Me Away’ ft Adeola Ranson earlier this year. Now 8 releases deep, the Tone Control Music roster has expanded, releasing singles by Love Over Money and Poussez vs. Demarkus Lewis, enlisting Atjazz and restless soul (aka Phil Asher and Mark de Clive-Lowe), Jose Carretas and 6th Borough Project on remix duties. These singles cemented Tone Control Music’s place in soulful dance music scene. 2010 continues to be an exciting year for Tone Control, so keep listening for more unique underground soulful sounds!

Vincent “DJ Spinna” Williams is something of an anomaly in music. Succeeding multiple genres – he has remixed De La Soul, Mary J. Blige and Stevie Wonder, in hip hop he’s collaborated with Eminem, Pharoah Monch, as well as being a member of Jigmasters, Poly Rhythm Addicts and Dome Crackers to name a few. His dance productions and work with the likes of Tortured Soul, Sean Escoffery, Ayro and Ovasoul7, and labels such as Yoruba, BBE, Papa and his own Wonderwax prove why DJ Spinna is one of the most prolific DJ/producers of our time.

Tomson & Benedict are a Manchester based production/DJ duo whose partnership spawns a mutated deep house sound representing the morphing of old school house, garage and techno with future-thinking electronic synths and programming. Tomson & Benedict have just a sprinkling of production work involving names such as Paul Randolph, Atjazz, Flowriders, Paris Brightledge and an iminent release on Freerange Records this summer.

Love Over Money are Si Finnegan (Tone Control) and Nathan Thomas who has produced, mixed and written with a broad range of popular music artists including Mel C, Keane, Mark Hill, Laura Vane, MJ Cole and more. Si is also working with Adeola Ranson and Fuminori Kagajo on a new single forthcoming on King Street Sounds.
