This year’s headliners at Hertfordshire’s much-loved independent festival Standon Calling include DJ-come-beatboxer Beardyman, experimental rock/electro outfit Death in Vegas and dub-thoroughbreds Fat Freddy’s Drop.
The latest announced additions to the lineup include !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Crazy P, Willy Mason, Greg Wilson and Trojan Sound System amongst others.
Also on the bill at Standon Calling 2012 is The Time and Space Machine, Richard Norris’s recent exploration of the psychedelic side of music. There’s also Norwegian synth-poppers CasioKids. Sunderland’s electro-pop siblings Field Music and long-standing veteran of Standon Calling, Gabby Young and Other Animals, whose new album is due this summer.
MTV’s recent recipient of the titles ‘Brand New for 2012’ King Charles will thrill the crowd with his curious “glam folk pop.” Stealing Sheep continue the festival’s thoroughly psych-feel and innovative three-piece folk band Yearners join the party, too. London’s dub-punk/reggae duo Dub Pistols are also back to show off their new album to festivalgoers this year, as well as loads more confirmed acts and acts to be confirmed.
