What does it sound like?

Wish, the one and only original track here, is analogue electro house for the bass generation, topped with Elle P’s vocals, flitting from a whisper to the kind of delivery that may or may not remind you of a Bond theme. If, that is, the score was conceived by someone like Ellen Allien.

In short it’s a poppy sound that will do well in the underground, and should appeal to most camps that appreciate squelching low ends, sugar-coated lyricism and warm melodies set to a stepping four four. Remix wise most of the components make for a similarly smile-inducing experience, as Skinnerbox cleans up the beats to create something a little crisper, and a lot more mechanical though no less groovy. Then Sei A comes along to deliver a tougher sound complete with token repetitive loops, accentuating breakdowns and basslines alike.

Where would I dance to it?

With three playable remixes offering shades of everything from a Michael Mayer-style dreamlike shuffle to growling, heads down fodder there’s not a lot of places something from this couldn’t be played in.

What highlights can I expect to hear?

Depending on which side of the fence you fall it’s a toss up between the original track, and the aforementioned Sei A cut. The former is smooth and understated, but also classic house party fare. In the case of the latter the intensity gets cranked up while the melody takes a dubbed back seat until finally revealing itself amid a whirlwind of noise before the kick drops, which should make bodies react as though winded. Eyes to the floor then.

Why should I pay for it?

You have no other way of getting it.

Where can I buy it?

With just 333 copies pressed this is difficult to locate, and even harder to find in stock. Try though, the artwork is lovely.
