ADE approaches, imminently- dancing shoes required

The notoriously enjoyable Amsterdam Dance Event is now just a few weeks away, and by all accounts is set to be bigger than ever before. Cliches aside, the addition of an extra day’s partying and 15 new venues is exemplary of the case in point.

2012’s line up, which will be spread between October 17th and 21st, will see 800 names descend on the Dutch capital to entertain an estimated 200,000 visiting club types. Agoria, AME, Carl Craig, Derrick May, DJ Deep, DJ Sneak, Dubfire, John Digweed, Miss Kitten, Kevin Saunderson, Maceo Plex, and Ricardo Villalobos are all present and correct, though that’s really just scratching the surface.

Ziggo Dome, de Gashouder (Westergasfabriek), Het Concertgebouw, Het Sieraad, North Sea Jazz Club , Stanislavski (Stadsschouwburg), the Amsterdam Studios and the Convention Factory are amongst the latest additions to what was already an exhaustive list of venues. Meanwhile, the number of club nights scheduled is at least equally sized.

It’s worth noting that on October 19th Chris Liebing’s CLR takes over Undercurrent, with the label bossman playing alongside Terence Fixmer, Tommy Four Seven, Brian Sanhaji, Drumcell, Monoloc, and DJ Emerson, which should be rather solid stuff to say the least, though a list of all the events making up this marathon bash of monolithic proportions can be found on the ADE website. Definitely worth the budget air fare.
