Guess who’s coming? Well, just your favourite DJ saviour, usin’ and confusin’ beats that ya never heard, set to put a smile on your face like ultra-bright. Or something like that, anyway.
DJ Shadow, the man behind the samples and a veritable festival highlight since Creamfields still ran for one day at the Old Liverpool Airfield, will return to the North West soon(ish). Last summer he climbed inside a huge globe to deliver a spectacular audio-video set at Parklife, one of the top performances of said weekend, and now he’s back making another very rare appearance at another major event in the region, only this time playing other people’s records.
Shadow also opened The Warehouse Project’s 2011 season, and obviously enjoyed himself as he’s back, only this time at the mega-rave’s new, Trafford Park venue, joining an already impressive beats and breaks entourage for the November 9th bash. As such expect to see him alongside Flying Lotus, Squarepusher, Jamie XX, Martyn and more when the time finally comes. Meanwhile, Hessle Audio takeover the impressive, notably more intimate Room Two, with Shed playing live, Ben UFO, Prosumer, and Pangaea amongst the faces therein.
The event itself is run in association with the really rather good Red Bull Music Academy, and currently looks like the strongest from the current crop of nights scheduled for September to December. Full details below, meanwhile tickets are selling fast as ever on the end of this link. And, if you missed our story on The Warehouse Project’s new opening, click here for the full low down.
