The Grammys are the biggest awards in music, and as you’d expect all the American heavyweights such as Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Eminem are given the nod, however it’s also been a great year for electronic artists and producers.
The Chemical Brothers have been shortlisted for the best electronic/dance album for Further, alongside BT who receives a shortlist for These Hopefull Machines. La Roux also gets on the list alongside Goldfrapp and Groove Armada, making the best dance album category a thoroughly British affair.
Axwell and Dirty South are shortlisted in the best remix category for their reworking of The Temper Traps Sweet Disposition, and Wolfgang Gartner is also shortlisted for his remix of Funk Nasty by Andy Caldwell.
All in all, not a bad show for the dance music world. The winners will be announced on the 13th Feb 2011.
