Pete Dafeet / ‘The Root, The Soul’ Album

Lost My Dog / June 2015

‘The Root, The Soul’ is the fulfilling of Deep House Pioneer Pete Dafeet’s long held ambition to write a long-player as he delivers his magnificently crafted debut album, also marking the end of the road for Lost My Dog Records. The album is both intelligent and sentimental. It carries a fusion of profound Deep House-scapes, soulful melodies brushed with colourful intricate Tech, underpinned by lush, bumping grooves that are ripe for both dancefloors and sofas alike! Recorded during a year that saw him engaged and married, it’s a living memory of a very happy time and poignantly includes Pete’s affectionate piano House single ‘Wife’ – the first single from the album dropping in May with a Nacho Marco remix. Other singles to come from the album include ‘Baltimore’ featuring 3 Charles Webster remixes, and ‘My Love Is Raw’ with two Manuel Tur remixes.
“I’d wanted to make an album since I was young, so this is me fulfilling a long held ambition. I recorded the bulk of it in 2013, the year I married my wife Ciara. These songs are my memories of that year – a record we’ll be able to listen back to as we get old together.” – Pete Dafeet
One way or another 2015 will be a momentous year for Pete Dafeet. His label Lost My Dog – started in 2005 with friends Ian Straker and Najan Ward – will celebrate 10 years in business, and will then issue its final release in ‘The Root, The Soul’.
