DJ KOCO AKA SHIMOKITA x JIM SHARP

Since sharing a stage at Koco’s first European appearance in 2018, these two of the Kings of the 45s scene from opposite sides of the globe connect for a tour of musicality, turntablism, exclusive and elusive records to rock crowds across Europe.

DJ KOCO AKA SHIMOKITA

Vinyl collectors the world over and fans of great deejaying alike know Japan’s DJ Koco aka Shimokita. He first started spinning 45s in 2011 and since uploading his first Instagram video in 2017 cutting up and juggling two 7 inch records, his meteoric rise to prominence has been amazing to witness. Koco’s technical abilities are near flawless and combined with his digging skills, impeccable taste in music and the palatable pure joy with which he plays, he is mesmerising to watch. And the right people have been taking notice.

With prestigious live appearances under his belt such as the Do-Over Tokyo, the Vinyl Destination Tour with DJ Jazzy Jeff and Bastid’s BBQ Taipei. He’s also turned in some legendary online streams such as DJ Scratch’s “Scratchvision”, Boiler Room x Dommune x Technics: A Celebration of 50 Years of the SL-1200 and the Glitterbox Virtual Festival – which Defected Records declared was the DJ set of the year

The way in which Koco commands a stage and DJ booth with dope skills and infectious enjoyment makes an unforgettable experience for those in attendance.
