Animal Trainer – We Are Ready EP
The irrepressible Animal Trainer are back once again on Hive Audio for the label’s landmark 20th release. They Swiss producers have featured a lot on the label in the past so its right they are the ones chosen to represent on the 20th outing.
First up is ‘Right Time’, a mid tempo tech house tune alive with all the usual drama of an Animal Trainer release. As well as a knotted bassline and dirty synth patterns there are catchy vocal coos and plenty of white noise blasts for extra tension. The remix from Benja & Reto Ardour is a more punchy house affair with warm and rubbery beats and an earworm synth pattern that is ever present. Lastly comes ‘We Are Ready’, which is a slow and grainy house tune that looks back to classic us house of days gone by for its inspiration at the same time as layering in plenty of quirky trumpet toots and well treated vocals. This EP is an unsurprisingly great way to celebrate turning 20.
