Taras van de Voorde – Chasing Seasons (Suara)
The Suara sound is one that has been the sound of top dancefloors all over Europe – and indeed the world – for a while now. Always serving up tasty EPs, the label enlists Dutchman Taras van de Voorde for their next tech house weapon, and ask Pitto to put his own spin on it.
Chasing Autumn goes first and is a hark back to the old school with its stabs of piano and rushing drums. Everything about it is bold, bright and physical and it will not fail to stand out on the dancefloor and have everyone marching in time. The track of the EP though is Chasing Winters, which goes long at 12 odd minutes but makes the absolute most of every second. It’s a warm, rich house track that builds and builds with harmonic bells, warm percussive hooks and jangling tambourines and is dope as it is dynamic. The final cut of a great EP is a PItto remix of Chasing Winter, which edges up the energy levels, makes the melodies saw more raw and the percussion more paranoid and runs with it.
