In 2014 one of the UK’s favourite and most influential club nights – Bugged Out – celebrate their 20-year anniversary. This EPIC journey is not only a behemoth accomplishment, it has also left a trail of awesomely memorable moments in many a ravers heart. Bugged Out will celebrate this milestone over the course of the year, beginning with their flagship event: the Bugged Out Weekender. And where better to kick off the birthday festivities than the place where it all began, in the north of England.
The 2014 Bugged Out Weekender takes place on March 7, 8, 9th at a brand new location; the Pontin’s resort in Southport, near Liverpool. The multi-roomed event features world renowned DJs and live acts, on-site accommodation, pool parties and most importantly – the famous Bugged Out party vibes.
This’ll be one helluva’ celebration. Expect the legendary likes of Dave Clarke – who’s debut for Bugged Out happened 2 decades ago; Sasha, who first played for Bugged Out in 1999 on millennium eve; party animal Erol Alkan, who first joined the armada back in 1991 plus a host of other fresh, and vintage DJ’s.
Over the course of 2 decades Bugged Out has become something of clubbing phenomenon. Evolving out of Jockey Slut magazine (RIP) in 1994, it made its first home in Sankeys, Manchester. Here the likes of Daft Punk, Richie Hawtin and the Chemical Brothers graced the stage, setting the standard of what was to come. Following that, they spent 5 years in Liverpool at the 3500 capacity Nation, before relocating South, to Fabric and The End. For 20 years Bugged Out has thrown regular parties in Liverpool, Manchester, London, Ibiza, Milan, Barcelona and Ibiza and continues to act as a habitual destination for fans of cutting edge dance music.
