SOUL BUTTON FEAT. STEE DOWNES – IN MY STRIDE (UNDERGROUND AUDIO)
Stee Downes is a vocalist who seems to be taking over from Robert Owens as the go to guy for modern producers and here lends his sultry tones to German producer Soul Button who is making his debut on the impressive Underground Audio label. The one original track the pair provide is a nimble, classic house track with elastic chords, lazy percussion and washes of sensual synths all topped off with Downe’s melancholic vocals above. Its an anthem in the making frankly.
The track gets three remixes, one from Sasch BBC & Caspar who decide to break things down a little and inject some nervy kinetic percussive energy, whilst Habischmann subtle re works the thing into a slightly disco leaning, slo house jam with plenty of sexiness and steaminess in the well poised chords. Finally, Atapy laces his track with a wobbly, fat synth sounds that gurgles right up the heart of the track between more sensitive one finger piano notes that linger long in the air. A fine and emotive package all round, then.
