Interview & exclusive mix from Robsoul Recording’s Phil Weeks…

After a sell out London visit back in February of this year, Phil Weeks and his Robsoul label roll back into town on December 22nd, bringing along his good friends and fellow French underground legends DJ W!ld and Chris Carrier.

Sure to be a musical masterclass as the trio take to the decks for a marathon session, we couldn’t have wished for a better place for the magic to go down than Village Underground in the heart of Shoreditch. Home this year to the likes of Art of Dark, vs Youth Invasion and Richie Hawtin’s New Horizons it is without doubt one of the best places to party in the entire city.

We grabbed 5 minutes with Phil himself to find out what they have in store for us.

So, looking forward to the weekend?

Yeah man, I’m really looking for it. London is easily one of my favourite cities & last time I played for the Art of Dark 1st birthday was just an incredible party. If this one is half good, then it will be off the hook. Plus I heard amazing things about the “Village Underground” venue…

It will be quite a party with yourself, Chris Carrier & DJ W!ld playing on the same bill, does it happen often & is it something you specifically look forward to?

DJ W!ld & I have played often together in the last 2 years, and I used to play also quite often with Chris, but all 3 together is gonna be almost a premiere!! We’re close friends so u can imagine how cool it can be.I have also many friends from France making the trip for this…

Gonna be on fire!

What does Christmas usually involve for Phil Weeks?

Usually Christmas means Family time for me. Something real intimate with a nice dinner & lot of presents. I would never miss this…except for last year when I was stuck in Torino cause of the snow.

What is in store for Robsoul & Phil Weeks in 2013?

We have lots of things is coming up on the label with some classic artists and some amazing new producers.

To start the year, we’ll have a release from Theo Parrish (RB116), then a first EP from new talent “Alci” (RB117, Amazing!! + 2 more EPs from him to follow), the first album from Joss Moog is almost ready, new EP by DJ W!ld, also vol.3 of Club Cuts by Jordan Peak, second EP from Tommy Largo (with partner Menno Overvliet), an EP from Rick Wade…

About me, you can expect some more PW release (I have already 2 EPs ready) + few remixes..

I will keep on focusing also on my Underground Chronicles show which is something I love to do.  )

Very creative will be the line of 2013!
