The ‘All Gone Pete Tong tour’ has been in full flow for a few weeks and has taken cities around Europe by storm. Only two weeks ago I managed to partake in the ADE show at the amazing AIR club which truly emerged as one of the top parties of the conference.
This time I was at the party capital, no not London but the illustrious Warehouse club in Leeds, the oldest dance club in the UK at staggering at 33 years old. Pete Tong himself had not been in Leeds for a couple of years so it was an event bustling with musical quality. He invited down good friend and fellow stalwart Francois K and Canadian duo Blond:ish to the soiree to add that extra spice on Leeds most respected venue.
Onto the music, it was a sharp set from the Blond:ish girls who have risen to the forefront over 2012 with their tracks on Get Physical. Good friends of Leeds heavyweight Darius Syrossian, they have taken hints of his energy and house culture and made their own impact on the scene. The throbbing bass and deep sound created an amazing backdrop as the crowd warmed up for the headliners.
Pete Tong obviously brought his A game to the positive energy to the shindig. The Radio one legend provided the Funktion One system with some huge drops and fresh edits that had the audience in sheer uproar. Francois K, another epic name who hadn’t played Leeds for some years arrived with his infamous house productions. The New York creator added his take on proceedings with some punchy bombs that just married that of Petes.
The Warehouse is just one of the major venues in the city but with standout nights like this it bustles its way to the forefront with charisma and energy. Heading into its 34 year look out for event with the likes of Basement Jaxx and Jame Zabiela to name a few. Good work…
