On Saturday 29th September FOUND bring you a unique daytime event, closing Earl Street in Shoreditch for a very special outdoor celebration of electronic music with an exciting Street Party! Saluting the finest UK house and four -to -the-floor inspired sounds, this event will unite East London’s burgeoning underground music scene to champion the exceptional diversity of Shoreditch, Hackney’s cultural hub.
The FOUND Street Party will see a year of exciting nights culminate in the ultimate outdoor event, showcasing the music we all love alongside mouth-watering food stalls, fully stocked bars and all the amenities you need for a great day out. There’s no better way to see out the end of another of our great British summers! The event will be centred around a thrilling outdoor stage and the best thought-through production going.
And so , to the line-up. Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen is the living New York production powerhouse responsible for giving us the likes of ‘Burning’ and ‘Always’ on his own Area 10 imprint, having honed his craft for forging outstanding house music alongside Kevin Saunderson and the respected studios of Inner City Records, whilst just still in his teens. Since then MK hasn’t looked back, going on to create in the likes of ‘Burning’ an infectious style that blurs the boundaries between house and garage, uniting supporters of both camps all over the world. His Midas touch has seen him deliver over 200 remixes, working in the studio honing the sounds of global mega stars such as Snoop Dogg and Jay -Z but now MK has returned to the underground and the vocal 4×4 house sounds for which he’ s most loved.
Collaborating with Lee Foss, recently remixing Amirali’s ‘Just An Illusion’ for Crosstown Rebels and working his magic on Storm Queen’s ‘Look Right Through’ with the ‘Don’t Talk To Me’ dub becoming one of the biggest tracks on the house circuit this year, this master of classic house is constantly re-inventing himself and is well and truly back! Todd Edwards frequently cites MK as an early influence and FOUND are thrilled to bring these pioneers together for this exciting event, uniting two of the greatest advocates of underground house on the planet for a Street Party like no other!
Todd ‘The God’ Edwards is widely regarded as the godfather of garage, having crafted some of the most respected four -to -the-floor sounds on the planet for over two decades, responsible for an arsenal of remixes (now numbering hundreds), genre defining EPs and production work that are fused with his trademark beats, since proceeding to influence the best US garage, house, 2-step, disco and 4×4 advocates on the planet. Famed for his masterful use of the sample in its finest form, since ‘The Messenger’ propelled Todd on to the New York underground circuit in 1993, he’s gone global with a slew of catastrophically good tracks, ‘Saved My Life’, ‘I Might Be’, ‘Shut The Door’ and his St Germain ‘Alabama Blues’ remix b eing just four examples of countless more. Led by his renowned refix of Daft Punk’s ‘Face To Face’, Edwards’ remix output is truly outstanding. The Todd Edwards sound is instantly recognisable and has touched generations of clubbers, producers and DJs, spawning some of the most exciting underground electronic movements both in the UK and the US. FOUND are overjoyed to bring Edwards to London for their Shoreditch Street Party and what’s a rare UK appearance, celebrating the grass roots of some the greatest electronic music on the globe.
Next, FOUND present another pioneer in his own right. Bringing his renowned cutting -edge house and techno sound that’s become synonymous with uncompromising production quality, is Paul Woolford. With global residencies and s ets at some of the finest clubs on the planet from Berlin to Buenos Aires’, LA to Las Vegas and of course Ibiza, Woolford commands a much -deserved respect through a host of re -edits and stellar releases, not least 2005’s unstoppable ‘Erotic Discourse’ whic h dropped on 2020 Vision, 2008’s infectious ‘Black Orchid’ or the hard -hitting tones of ‘Pandemonium’. It’s tracks like these that mean Woolford can count the likes of Erol Alkan, Richie Hawtin and Laurent Garnier amongst his supporters, not forgetting the many thousands of clubbers across the globe that rave about his sonic offerings behind the booth. A look back to 2008’s ‘The Truth’ album is a must and discerning fans will be waiting in the wings anticipating more gold under his recently revealed Special Request moniker. FOUND are honoured to have one of house and techno’s modern greats amongst their ranks at this unique outdoor celebration.
Joining them is Huxley, one of the country’s favourite artists of the moment and a man who’s provided much of the soundtrack at FOUND HQ for the past year. Fusing classic UK and US garage, 4×4 and contagious early rave hooks to carve his own distinct breed of house, Huxley’s impeccable production has graced the release catalogues of scene vanguards Hypercolour, Fear O f Flying and Tsuba, the label where he cut his teeth just a few years ago. Since then tracks like the beloved ‘Let It Go’, the recent ‘Box Clever’ and ‘Jamma’s Basement’ have re-invigorated the UK house scene with classic garage and 2-step flavours and und eniably catchy hooks that you just can’t help but get up and dance to. Huxley brings a massive dose of summer-sunshine to FOUND’s daytime street festival of sounds.
Rattus Rattus rounds off this mouth -watering line-up, bringing an arsenal of records defined by years spent earning his place in the hearts of the UK’s underground clubbers through DJ sets at the likes of Fabric and Ministry Of Sound, residencies with Urban Nerds and Bigger Than Barry and a no holds barred multi-genre approach that’s seen him p lay everything from Glastonbury and Snowbombing to Ibiza’s Reclaim The Dancefloor. With sets that touch on anything from acid and garage to UK bass and dubstep, this dextrous DJ always brings the party atmosphere. He’ll be doing just that at FOUND’s Shoreditch Street event and you won’t be disappointed.
The Shoreditch Street Party will be followed by an indoor warehouse after party, located less than five minutes around the corner with an equally special line-up. Keep an eye out for details, revealed very soon.
