Whether you joined the story with debut LP Pip Paine (Pay The £5,000 You Owe), or soundtrack to last summer The English Riviera, there’s no denying Joseph Mount and Co know how to spin a musical yarn. As such news of their next release should be rather appealing.
Not a production album, but the latest mix to join a much-feted series, Metronomy’s Late Night Tales sees the aforementioned frontman select some unarguably great tunes, meld them together, and package the result in one CD. On the disc you can find cuts from his band (a cover version of Jean-Michel Jarre no less), Dr. Octagon (AKA hip hop legend Kool Keith), Autechre, Outkast, and Cat Power, amongst other faces, with one of those spoken word outros from music journalist Paul Morley. Arriving in stores on September 3rd 2012, may we suggest taking a look at the full tracklist below, and then running through the Ten Best Tracks to feature on previous instalments to get more acquainted with the world famous compilation brand.
