Bugge Wesseltoft, Jazzanova, and Ashley Beedle to play London Oval

It’s probably important to make one thing clear first up then- we’re not talking about the cricket ground here. Instead, the venue in question is brand new “evolving multi-use art space in the heart of Bethnal Green with one of the most spectacular views in London“, though in this instance it could be an underground layer filled with mould and rotting matter and we’d probably still be tempted to check it out.

Because Bugge Wesseltoft is something of a legend. Rightly regarded as a contemporary musical pioneer and piano genius, his work has been instrumental in bringing the canons of electronic dance and jazz closer together, creating the so-called ‘New Conceptions’ movement in the mid-1990s. Now he’ll be bringing his enviable talent to London’s Oval Space for a performance on Thursday, July 12th, accompanied by friends (AKA highly talented, internationally acclaimed aficionados in their own right), which is exciting news.

That’s not all, either. Attendees can also expect the rare treat that is a DJ set from Jazzanova’s luminary Alex Barck, whilst electronic stalwart Ashley Beedle will also be in the house, with records to play. Door tax ranges from £12.50 for advanced standing to £17.50 for advanced seating, with drinks served on the terrace at 6PM and stage times slated from 7.30PM- all of which sounds rather respectable, and once again proves there’s more to our lives than sweaty, dark basements (fun though they are). Full details at the bottom of this page, click here for tickets, meanwhile we’ve embedded a tasty cut from the man in question, alongside Innervisions’ Henrik Schwarz, which kind of proves our point.
