Burnski & Bonar Bradberry @ Basing House 17.03.12

Needwant present a symbolic event on Saturday 17th March with Burnski and Bonar Bradberry playing together for the first time in London at Shoreditch’s, Basing House. After remixing Bonar Bradberry’s first EP for the label last year,  the London stable bring the two under one roof to capture the venue’s intimate space, celebrating Bonar’s second release ’You Were Away,’ released on 19th February.

Recognised for its attention to quality over quantity, Needwant has always preserved its sound by releasing and working with artists that understand music as an art form, something that isn’t always captured in today’s music scene. Both Burnski and Bonar are two people who have fallen amongst these select few which is noticeable by the amount of recognition they are getting from artists, radio plays and worldwide bookings. Berlin based James Burnham aka Burnski has to be one of the most consistent artists circulating at the moment, his ability to hold a room is majestic with him always pulling out something different and unexpected – whether it be the build up or half way through his set, the tune selection, balance and vibe he brings behind the booth is just something else. Similar in so many ways, Bonar has the same hold on his crowd which has become apparent over the last year or so. Stepping away in his solo side project, from his partnership as PBR Streetgang, has seen him play a deeper more dreamier style that is reflected in his productions, which is what makes him so unique in that he can be so versatile but still maintain any room, anywhere with anything. With Public House DJ’s and Patrick Perring also added to the bill, there really is only one place to be on the 17th.

Proving once again to induce quality in the UK clubbing scene, this night sets itself away from any other label night with a focus on the music, the crowd and educating in the roots of what electronic music is really about.
