When a man who has acted as A&R for some nine labels finally gets round to a full length release of his own the words ‘better be good’ come to mind. Not least after waiting over a decade and a half to get our hands on it.
Far from hyperbole that’s roughly how long Ben Sims has been in demand for, whether that’s as a DJ’s DJ, producer, or remixer. Smoke And Mirrors is his long awaited debut album, and is set to arrive via Adam Beyer’s Drumcode on October 17th. Obviously then that date is one we’re all looking forward to, but in the meantime below are a couple of videos previewing two tracks from said LP, along with another featuring the man himself discussing all of this and more, courtesy of that aforementioned imprint, all of which should stave off the hunger…
…but before checking them out we thought it might be interesting to add that Mr Sims will also be responsible for one of the first releases on Engineroom, a new label from Detroit Grand Pubahs, with work in the shape of that electro-sleaze classic Sandwiches, remixed and re-read for 2011- a package set to arrive in November.
