Event preview – Spectrum continue their London onslaught.

With three massive sell-out shows in London so far in 2011, it is fair to say that Spectrum is quickly becoming the most talked about club brand in the capital. The recent Summer Warehouse Party, at Ewer Street Car Park saw Chase & Status, Nero, Zinc, Kissy Sell Out, Redlight and Tomba starring in a bass heavy night that shook Southwark to its foundations.

For the next event, Spectrum once again brings a uniquely programmed multi-genre line up of acts representing modern electronic music in its finest form.

Heading the line up is a debut live show in the UK for Dutch superstars Mason, fresh from the release of their critically acclaimed album “They Are Amongst Us” which features collaborations with Roisin Murphy. Kurtis Blow and Sam Sparro. Having the biggest dance hit of 2007 with Exceeder, the duo resisted going down the popular global house route and set about making an album of real substance. In ‘They Are Amongst Us’ they succeeded. Live this duo take to the stage with a ground-breaking fully interactive audio-visual-lights set-up, adding live violins and electronic clarinets to boot! Having rocked the continent so far this year this is the very first live appearance for the Dutchmen.

Mord Fustang’s rise to the top of the new electro-dubstep sound has been nothing short of phenomenal. The Estonian producer debut release on Miles Dyson’s Plasmapool Recordings went straight to the top of the Beatport charts and a new star was instantly born! Expect fast paced frenetic music that crosses over a number of styles, just the way Spectrum likes it.

Being stalwarts of a scene doesn’t usually inspire much buzz and excitement, however in the case of Drumsound & Bassline Smith nothing could be further from the truth. Their new single Close is out on August 21st and is set to be one of the biggest underground tunes of 2011. Add this to their forthcoming remix of “What Can You Do For Me” by the Utah Saints and you’ll see why these guys are big in the game right now!

Disco of Doom have built up their reputation over the past few years, have seen things go crazy in 2011 with big releases on labels such as Discobelle and further high profile remixes. The Rogue Element and Tom Real as solo artists had big reputations, but as Disco of Doom the combination is explosive!

Circus Records’s Roksonix complete the quintet of Spectrum debutants. The London based duo, take the tear out dubstep sound to new heights and are guaranteed to smash the dancefloor at Proud2.

Spectrum’s Pete Jordan joins production partner and UK Redbull Threestyle DJ champion, Santero to complete the bill on a night where musical limits will not exist and you’ll likely hear some of the heaviest basslines on the planet. If you are yet to experience the Spectrum phenomenon then here’s your chance to do so, are you ready?
