When Owl’s Nest dropped on Truesoul last year we were blown away. Not because the highly talented hands behind it belong to a particularly photogenic femme fatale, but simply because heavy, bouncy techno is difficult to get right, and with said release the nail had been hit square on the head.
An oeuvre that also checks in on imprints like Pickadoll and Get Physical, in addition to Adam Beyer’s aforementioned institution, confirms Ida Engberg’s production prowess. Sets everywhere from Watergate in Berlin to Movement in Detroit prove her ability to deliver driving kicks from behind the booth.
Needless to say then, she knows a thing or two about tunes, and has an ear for four fours that stands her in good stead to provide us with our next guest chart.
