CHOICE CUT – John Tejada ‘Parabolas’

Tejada’s first album in a couple of years arrives, representing his first LP on the much-loved German imprint Kompakt. But is it any good? Well, if you like melodic tech house melded with deep electro breakbeats and filthy acidic rollers then yes, it is pretty damn impressive.

Dirty Cucumbers, SHM “Irony”, Podcasts & Videos, Win Tickets & CDs, The top 5 nights out & the VERY best of the rest!

Hello folks – hope you are all not suffering too much from the effects of last weekend.. Time to fix up and look sharp as another one is here!! Lots on my mind this week – lots of pondering.  I tried to come up with a “witty” joke about disease riddled Spanish cucumbers (in case there are […]

John Tejada ‘Unstable Condition’

He’s back. One of the greatest producers in modern day American dance music returns, this time making his first appearance on one of the best labels in the world, Kompakt, ahead of his forthcoming album. And a right techy, housey, spacey treat it is too.

Kompakt to put out huge charity album

Ostgut Ton, Freude Am Tanzen, BPitch Control, Dial, and Optimo Music have all contributed work from the likes of Jahcoozi, Michael Mayer, Efdemin, Monkey Maffia, SCSI-9, and Someone Else. What’s more, all 34-tracks cost just €7.99. No excuses then.

John Tejada set for new album on Kompakt

Before that happens a single, ‘Unstable Condition’, will arrive on May 2nd. The LP will follow, and considering we love John Tejada, whether appearing on his own inimitable Palette imprint or elsewhere, and adore Kompakt, we’re pretty excited. Well, very excited actually.

Rainbow Arabia ‘Without You’

Synth pop makes a welcome return at Kompakt as Los Angelino duo Rainbow Arabia explode with one of the finest pieces of montage-worthy, epic and emotive electronica produced this side of 1984.

Robag Wruhme ‘Wuppdeckmischmampflow’

One of Germany’s most innovative dance imprints kicks off another 12 months of (hopefully) worthwhile long-form work with a mix from the man responsible for the Wighomy Brothers. As you’d expect, it’s a jazzy, smoked out, and pretty damn atmospheric tech house affair.

Various Artists ‘Joachim Spieth presents Selected 6’

Affin rounds off another year with a glance back over the last two, and a collection of tracks from the imprint’s catalogue. Quality sounds courtesy of Alessio Mereu, Tom Pooks, Alex James, Dirty Culture, and a few more.

Review: Shed ‘Traveller’

Shed unleashes his latest long-player, and while the content may seem a million miles away from techno, scratching the surface reveals a hidden truth better than you’d dare to believe.
