    Polo Presents Zed Bias
    Proud Camden - London - 03/06/2017 20:00-03:00
    Event Info:

We are very excited for Zed Bias to make his Proud Debut…..

UKG stalwart, broken beat fanatic, dub connoisseur. His pseudonyms include Zed Bias, Phuturistix, Funk Bias, Daluq, Talissman, Ruffcut Bias, Nu Design, 7 Wonders, Almighty Beatfreakz, Dekata Project – just some of the names Maddslinky, aka Dave Jones, has recorded under in the last 14 years as himself or in collaboration with others.

With a slew of seminal releases in 1999 on his own Sidewinder and Sidestepper imprints, Jones then hit the UK Charts as Zed Bias in 2000 with Neighbourhood, now widely regarded as one of the all time classic UK Garage tracks.

He is cited as one of the pioneers of breakbeat garage but is always moving with – or ahead of – the times and his recent productions still grace the playlists of Radio 1 DJs Annie Mac, Benji B, Nick Grimshaw, Gilles Peterson and Mista Jam, as well as into the record boxes of DJ / producers like Toddla T, Loefah, Skream, Pearson Sound, Oneman, Julio Bashmore, Kode 9 and Martyn (who included ‘Lost on Tenori Street’ on his ‘Fabric 50’ mix).

The first Maddslinky album, ‘Make Your Peace’, dropped in 2002 featured collaborations with Will White (Propellerheads), Kaidi Tatham (Bugz in the attic), Luca Roccatagliati (Ajello/Daluq), Kevin Robinson, Kayo, Juiceman and Simba.

In 2010 we saw the release of ‘Make a Change’, the long-awaited follow up LP with collaborators including Skream, Mr Scruff, Omar, Mighty Moe, Ghost1, Jenna G and many more.

On the same day as the new album release, Tru Thoughts made available the seminal ‘Make Your Peace’ which, despite not being given a widespread release, played a large role in the creation of dubstep. This re-release boasts bonus tracks and new and incisive sleeve notes by Martin Clark aka Blackdown, with quotes from Skream citing the album as a major influence on him.

    Event Info:

fabric: Steffi, Head High, Zenker Brothers & Voiski.

This June we await an evening of high-class techno as Steffi lands in Room One. Famed for her inspired selections and adept mixing skills, she regularly brings a toughened take on four four that’s come to define her residency at Berlin’s Panorama Bar. She’s also tipped for her work in the field of production, and her output on the definitive Ostgut Ton label has helped make her one of the Berlin powerhouse’s core artists. Stepping up to join her is another of techno’s most singular artists as René Pawlowitz brings Head High to RM1. Known for his array of differing aliases, under his Head High banner Pawlowitz brings a distinctly refreshed take on the rave sound. While these are profiled on his releases on Power House, his Head High performances see him putting a modern twist on classic rave cuts. Room One is rounded off with an appearance from Virginia, the Ostgut Ton stalwart and one of Steffi’s closest collaborators.

Over in Room Two, we prep for the return of one of electronic music’s most forward–thinking artists as Ilian Tape’s Zenker Brothers return. For the last 10 years their label has been defined by its unique approach to techno, where heady atmospherics are blended with serene ambience and broken beats. We invite the Zenkers to bring this compelling sound to the club with another appearance in Room Two. They’re joined by Voiski, the French producer and recent breakthrough. With releases spanning across respected labels L.I.E.S., Delsin and Dekmantel’s UFO series, he joins us for a special live performance. The bill is finally rounded off with Terry Francis bringing his familiar blend of punchy selections.

    Event Info:

Every Friday night, Vesuvio leads you into the weekend with a free club night at The Social in Central London. Expect drinking, dancing and lots of fun.

Vesuvio is a volcano in Italy BUT IT IS ALSO our weekly Friday night drink and dance party…

Downstairs things are more dancefloor focussed with 12 inch hip hop and rnb, old school garage, house music and dancehall. It’s a disco party for afterworkers who like to dance, birthday boys and girls, people old enough to know better and youngsters alike. Good music and good vibes.

Upstairs we like to look stubbornly backwards so you’ll hear seven inch funk and soul, reggae, disco, afrobeat, a bit of hip hop, blues and rock and roll. It’s a dance party for people who like to sit down… and drink.

    Resident DJs:
    – Zane (eclectic, cool, unflappable dancing facilitator).
    – Becca (warm-up wonderwoman armed with a lethal bag of afropop).
    – Tom Caslin (the basement’s resident king cutmaster).

fabric: 10 Years Of air london with Darius Syrossian & Slam
    fabric - London - 17/06/2017 23:00-08:00
    Event Info:

We prepare for a special anniversary party this summer as air london celebrates its 10th birthday. The London based agency first launched in 2007 showcasing high quality house and techno artists, and after setting up an offshoot record label and party series it became an integral part of the capital’s flourishing party landscape. The bill is headed by Darius Syrossian, the Space Ibiza stalwart and master of groove-led house and is one of Ibiza’s best-known residents. He’s joined by Point G playing live. An alias of French house artist DJ Gregory, his recent work released on his label of the same name have been some of the best-produced house cuts of recent years. He brings his sound to the building with a live performance. Also locked in is Josh Butler, the house producer whose work has landed on labels including Cajual and Strictly Rhythm. Room One is finally rounded off with an appearance from B.A.R.E’s Jnr Windross.

In Room Two, Slam make their return. As regular Farringdon guests with a long history of playing in our Room Two space, the Soma duo have consistently pushed their refined take on techno through their 20-year career. Amongst their most recent endeavours was ‘Machine Cut Noise’, their 2016 LP that’s helped to show their ongoing pursuit for high-class techno. They’re joined by our own resident Terry Francis, who rounds off the bill with his own fusion of discerning techno and house.

fabric is an over 19s venue.
Please remember to bring ID with you. No ID, no Entry.
fabric operates a zero tolerance policy to drugs. Anyone found with illegal drugs will be banned from the venue and reported to the police.
