MARMALADE PRESENTS: DNB Fundraiser BBQ for Mind Bristol at | 28th July
Carnival may be over, but the sun will still be sizzling up the rooftop this Sunday 28th July, as Marmalade; an exciting music fundraiser, comes to the Blue Mountain Roof Terrace to raise money.
Founded by veteran party organisers, DJs and best friends Asher Wiener and Jesse Weisz (ZeroZero); guests will be invited to hear the DJs pay homage to their jungliest roots as they host an all-day drum n bass BBQ party, from 2pm to 9pm.
The aim of Marmalade is to create a series of parties with a purpose – with each one raising money for a different cause, through the love of music. This event will specifically focus on driving support for local charity Bristol Mind which provides community services for mental health – a topic which has a personal resonance for both DJs. In an age where being woke is crucial; the aim is to start relevant conversations and instigate change. In addition to this, being able to donate will be super simple – i.e. via donation boxes at the event or the Eventbrite tickets page.
Sunday’s line-up will include an exclusive two hour ‘Continuum’ set from Metalheadz and Dispatch label boss Ant TC1, taking the audience on a journey of old-skool jungle to new-skool drum and bass, as well as live sets from Zero T, Koherent, Ill Truth, Charli Brix as well as others. The party crew will also be invited to enjoy a mouth-watering BBQ, including delicious plant-based street food, run by local chef Oakan Brousse of St Georges Cafe and if the line-up raises the heat too much, there will be tasty frozen desserts, to keep things nice and cool.
Wiener and Weisz say: “We set up Marmalade because we believe by combining our experience and industry contacts, we can put on really great events which will bring people together to not only raise money for charity, but also get people talking about various issues affecting the world right now – as well as removing the stigma attached to topics such as mental health.
With Marmalade, we know that we can raise awareness from the younger audience, raise funds for various charities and have fun in the process!”
