Jungle Jam London at | 6th December
Hosted by Jungle Jam, the night will feature legendary names in drum and bass, jungle, footwork, 160 and dancehall playing exclusive and back-to-back sets.
Headliners include DJ Mag award nominee Fracture playing a back-to-back set with an unnamed BBC Radio 1 special guest DJ. Hospital Records artist, Makoto will also play an exclusive Good Looking Records set alongside MC Conrad, for the first time since LTJ Bukem’s label shut down.
Jungle Jam Director, Thomas Buxey decided to host the event after reports of record numbers of homeless youth, with child homelessness having surged by 80% since 2010. Jungle Jam’s biggest events have included the Jungle Jam Summer Carnival at Mint Warehouse and Jungle Dam 2019.
Described by DJ Mag as “the community-driven nightclub London needs right now”, The Cause has raised over £50,000 for three mental health charities in the past year, Mind in Haringey, CALM and Help Musicians UK, Mixmag reported.
The Evening Standard named The Cause number 1 gig destination for New Years’ Eve but also its last, as the venue will make way for residential development. However, reports confirm the venue has found a new home nearby.
Other acts on the night include Metalheadz legend DJ Flight, who was nominated last week by DJ Mag as ‘Soldier of Scene’. Fresh out of his Boiler Room set, Dancehall great Jamie Rodigan will partner Rinse FM host Uncle Dugs for an exclusive b2b Jungle set. Other acts include Kenny Ken, a Source Direct history set and Rupture label owner Double O back-to-back with Dead Man’s Chest.
The event, which Red Bull have sponsored with free drinks for the first 200 entrants, is also sponsored by Leeds-based design and print company, FYI.
