Roscius:
Combining lyric-less vocals, percussion and piano live sampling, roscius “creates a unique and absorbing soundscape, genuinely innovative and emotional”.
Just like one would play with electronic machines, roscius triggers his West African bongos, South American shakers, Asian gongs, Armenian tambourins and a small keyboard bought in a second hand market of Berlin, in order to create his very own organic musical and cinematic journey, sailing from acoustic deep house to groovy minimal, from techno to afrobeat, from jazz inspired chords to hip-hop rhythms. Michael Sebastian improvises dance music in real time. His music has the structure of modern electronic; the freedom of jazz, and the depth of world music. Using guitar, vocals, beatbox, and a synth, he layers ideas on the fly, creating a rich, vibrant sound. His affinity for groove and feel allows for conflicting styles to fluidly co-exist.
