Excursions return after a summer break for more Soul, Beats, Hip Hop, Jazz and Beyond with a world class selection of jaw dropping joints dropped in by a killer line-up of DJs on top of their game.
This month’s guest is producer and selector extraordinaire K15. With seminal releases on Wotnot, Wild Oats and Eglo (alongside Henry Wu) he’s fast becoming one of the most in-demand producers in the scene. He’s also a mighty fine DJ with over a decade of experience under his belt, culminating in being invited to be part of the recent Co-Op reunion shows over the last year. Check his EPs Bordeaux and Insecurities for proof – this man is the real deal!
He’s joined by residents Gilla (First Word), Andwot (Touching Bass) and Joe (Respected Beggars) spinning beats, hip hop, soul, disco, afro, jazz and beyond.
DJ GILLA:
Gilla is the man behind First Word Records, home to Tall Black Guy, Children Of Zeus, Souleance and much, much more. A respected selector in his own right, check out his recent Boiler Room show for an introduction to his genre-hopping, soulful sets.
ANDWOT:
Andwot is the man behind Touching Bass, as well as a host and regular DJ for Boiler Room. A born-and-bred Londoner with an instinctive ear for a tune, Andwot is a DJ on the up.
JOE RB:
Finally we’re joined by Joe, the head honcho of Respected Beggars. Originating in Belfast, RB hosted their first event in London last year and have swiftly become known for their killer line-ups and their attention to sound quality.
With the likes of Gilles Peterson, Dego and Kaidi, Andrew Ashong, Kutmah and Red Greg all gracing their stages over the last 12 months, the night has gone from strength to strength, we’re delighted to be able to bring the RB vibe to Excursions.
