Eton Messy is excited to announce another trend setting and taste making compilation featuring 32 tracks of fresh house music from some key rising stars and established greats. A 10 date tour will support the release of the timely In:Season compilation and takes in parties across the UK, at ADE, in Barcelona and Brussels.
Eton Messy is very much a new school act. They rose to prominence off the back of their YouTube channel, which became known as an arbiter of hot new music and saw them gain a vast online following. That following soon spread over into the real world as the duo’s gig schedule rocketed. They now play all over the world, smash up festival main stages, run their own Spotify playlist and promote their own well attended, crazy colourful events.
This new compilation was named after Eton Messy designer Eddy spotted the ‘in season’ section at his local veg stall. The boys decided it perfectly conveys their aims of offering up music that is perfectly fresh and ripe and ready to go right now. The artwork, meanwhile, represents autumn/winter i.e. when the tour kicks off, and much like the fashion world who use the same system, the whole concept will be back again next year under a spring/summer banner with fresh new tunes.
This first collection proves Eton Messy have their finger on the pulse of the scene and finds them pick out some stars in the making and marry them up to big names already making waves. In terms of the cuts that are exclusive to this compilation, Matt & Kendo kick off with the robust and rubbery house of Who Cares, Jynx get tribal with the bouncing beats of Charm, GotSome’s The Life is all about the skipping bass and a Todd Sloan remix of Mike Wooller serves up some turbo charged, main room tech house with real style. The second half gets steamy and emotive with Chasing feat. Lolé from Aprês and the spine tingling, churchy house vibes of Love Thy Brother – Holy Days Ft. Jonny Stemp. Lastly for the exclusives, Dubshy serves up more pop leaning vocal house with grand pianos and melancholic moods that really strike a chord.
Elsewhere there are plenty of standouts including Glasgow duo illyus & Barrientos and their ‘Love You So Much’ Feat. fine vocals from Trina Broussard. Annie Mac is already a fan and playing it in many of her sets, whilst next up is another one she is banging, namely Shadow Child’s ‘Work’, a big main room cut with massive synths exploding into life throughout. The likes of other house mainstays such as Cera Alba, Doorly and Gorgon City all appear with emotive offerings that take the compilation ever higher.
Chart topping pair Dusky also offer some festival sized broken beats, Irish pair Bicep get weird and wonderful with their contribution, Defected man Sonny Fodera proves why he is one of the most in demand in the game and Hot Creations man Richy Ahmed offers a classically informed bit of smooth garage house.
This is a release packed within house heat that touches on myriad subtle styles and is sure to serve up many big hits the coming weeks and months. Playing the tour dates will be key Eton Messy associates Aprês, Illyus & Barrientos, Mike Wooler, The Golden Boy, TCTS, Icarus, Jax Jones and of course the duo themselves.
