Crew Love present – The Love Train – Studio 338 Beach Opening Party at | 5th June
The first party to have the honour of opening the fabulous new beach arena at Studio 338 on June 5th, will be none other than the cosy and creative US house collective Crew Love.
There is only ever one of these magical Crew Love events per year in London, and Studio 338 have the honour of hosting it. They are always standout, but this one will be extra special given the 180 tons of sand, a spacious deck, cabanas and wooden custom-built beach bars (all covered by a vast network of sails in case the English weather plays up). It will be a plush and authentic taste of classy beach partying straight from a dream holiday resort in paradise. Add into this the new double-height steel atrium and already excellent reputation for sound and production that this South London club boasts, and this is sure to be one of the most talked about events of summer 2016.
As for Crew Love, they are the close-knit and free-flowing house producers that have brought real musicality, emotion and feeling back into the genre. Tied to labels like Wolf + Lamb’s self titled outlet, as well as Soul Clap’s own eponymous label, the collective is known for playing passion-fuelled styles full of woozy synths, creamy basslines and r&b sensibilities.
As such, there will be a careful mix of DJ sets and live shows throughout the party, with changing moods, grooves and tempos all matching the progression of afternoon into evening. Soul Clap are the p-funk stars to Wolf + Lamb’s deep house, PilowTalk are a modern doo-wop and soul trio with real playing and singing chops, Nick Monaco offers a fresh take on r&b and No Regular Play marry virtuoso trumpet playing with intoxicating production. With the Danish dance duo of Laid Back—best known for their classic and effortless anthem ‘Bakerman’ which Soul Clap famously edited and put out in their early days—also making a special and exclusive appearance and you have an event that once again goes beyond the norm and is a truly must-attend affair as a result.
