Vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter/producer Xantone Blacq’s music is a sonic adventure fusing jazz, funk and soul with music from around the world. Xan describes his sound as ‘free-range sunshine music’. Xantone’s first single releases were “Search For The Sun” and “The Dance” both receiving critical acclaim and club/radio airplay from international luminaries including Masters At Work, Gilles Peterson, Kyoto Jazz Massive and Jazzanova. Touring the world several times as sidekick to Amy Winehouse and Nigel Kennedy, Xan performed at all the glorious hotspots a musician can imagine from Wembley arena to the Grammys award ceremonies.
Midnight Riot has proven to be the forerunner and the industry standard within the disco/nu disco re-edits scene. The Midnight Riot team and its amazing roster of producers have managed to cultivate an identity that is distinctly separate to their contemporaries and has an incredible following of loyal supporters which can be noted in the sales success of nearly every release since the label’s launch in 2012.
