THTC is back for 2014! After the success of our 14th Birthday party we are proud to present another line-up of our favourite THTC artists, across 2 rooms of Dope Beats and Smokin’ Basslines.
Trojan Sound System
London based Trojan Sound System are an institution in British sound system culture and long time collaborators with THTC. A legendary team of selectors and vocalists, they relentlessly tour the globe, representing the most seminal reggae and Ska record label in history.
Shlomo
Internationally acclaimed beatboxer and World Loopstation Champion SHLOMO creates an incredibly energetic live show like nothing you have seen before: jaw dropping, inspirational and totally absorbing.
A Guinness World Record holder, Shlomo gave up astrophysics to perform his amazing vocal pyrotechnics. It was a good move. Since then he has won global acclaim and worked with some of the biggest names in music including Bjork, Damon Albarn, Jarvis Cocker, Martha Wainwright, Imogen Heap, The Specials, DJ Yoda and even comedians the Mighty Boosh. In the process he has consistently pushed the boundaries of beatboxing, bringing the art form to new and unexpected audiences through such diverse collaborations.
Reeps One
Leave what you think about beatboxing at the door, Reeps One is a vocal force. If you are are unfamiliar with this walking, breathing sound system, he is the first to vocalise bass music in a way that has had producers and scientists scratching their heads and invariably dancing. Reeps is an acoustic instrument, a human that speaks electronic music and of course a long time THTC collaborator and supporter.
Dizaraeli & Downlow
Taking a break from touring with Dizraeli and the Small Gods, THTC supporters DIzraeli and DJ Downlow will be playing an exclusive London set for us. Having just toured the UK and every festival known to man and with a new album on the way, Dizraeli is a unique British talent. World DMC Champion Downlow will be providing the beats for Dizaraeli as they tear the roof of Jamm for THTC.
Coda Live
The 5 piece live act have been producing bass heavy music since 2009. With a relentless touring schedule they deliver their raw, energetic live shows to fans across Europe. Their sets fuse together the raw energy of a traditional band performance with the flow, excitement and hype of a DJ set. We couldn’t be more exciting about their first THTC perforance.
The Scribes
New wave Hip Hop four piece The Scribes have created a much heralded sound quite like any other in the scene today, their live show is widely regarded as one of the finest on the road today, featuring phenomenal freestyles, breakneck beatboxing and seemingly limitless energy. They will be pulling something extra special out of the bag for their first THTC performance.
