As if a line-up of Ivan Smagghe and Dyed Soundorom on May 13th wasn’t enough, krankbrother return on July 2nd with a truly spectacular trio of acts.

We’ll be welcoming 3 acts from our 3 favourite record labels – Mobilee, Get Physical and Crosstown Rebels. That is – Pan-Pot (Mobilee), DJ T. (Get Physical) and Shaun Reeves (Crosstown Rebels).

And to top it off, the party will be happening at Village Underground – London’s most sought after, unique and stunning warehouse space. We’re even borrowing the soundsystem that used to live in The Fridge for the evening – a line-up like this deserves the best sound quality available.

We can tell you this much – securing Pan-Pot as headliners wasn’t easy. The duo act very rarely play in London (only once last year) – their huge popularity in Europe and all over the world has led to their having an incredibly busy touring schedule. We’re also delighted to have booked DJ T. – who we have been long term admirers of ever since he set-up the now world famous record label “Get Physical Music” – it’s a rare London gig for him too. And getting things started, we’ve got the unmissable Shaun Reeves – one of the main players behind the unstoppable rise of Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels, and one of the founders of Visionquest alongside Seth Troxler.

A rare line-up indeed people. You’d be crazy to miss out, and given that it’s a limited capacity space, many will. So snap up your ticket PRONTO!

Now to the acts in more detail:

Pan-Pot:

Since their inception in 2005, Pan-Pot have become a dominant presence in modern techno, an ascent mirrored in the rise of their home label Mobilee records to the top tier of electronic music. Tagging themselves as “the dark side of the force”, Pan-Pot have melted minds, warped perceptions and reinvigorated the dancefloor with their heady, unorthodox sound; within their work, subtle pitch manipulations square off with wall-of-sound distortion, the dark stomp of 4/4 is tamed by intricate sound design, and minimalistic frameworks duel with throbbing bass lines, epic builds, and murky, off-kilter melodies.

The defining moment of Pan-Pot’s career came in 2007 with the release of their debut artist album, Pan-O-Rama. The aptly named long-player offered a 360-degree view of techno at its most twisted, balancing sombre atmospherics with a lightness of touch, and spawning the overground hit “Charly”. More recently “Confronted” and “Captain My Captain” have demonstrated their classic, strong and timely production style, presenting them as the most consistent purveyors of techno around.

Pan-Pot are ceaselessly working and endlessly inventive. When not in the studio writing original material or remixing tracks by a myriad of artists, they can be found on the road, touring. Their DJ sets reveal a keen understanding of the dancefloor’s needs, and they are unconstrained by boundaries, traversing techno, house and everything in between.

DJ T.:

Thomas Koch aka DJ T. has been a vital part of electronic music and club culture for over 20 years. Uniquely accomplished in both influence and scope, he has excelled in every one of his incarnations: DJ, label owner, producer, club operator, publisher and journalist.

In 2002, DJ T. and five of his friends started their own label, Get Physical Music. Within ten single releases, the label had forged an international reputation that took it far beyond its German base; it reached #4 in the annual Groove reader’s poll of 2004, and claimed the coveted ‘label of the year 2005’ award from British clubbing bible DJ Mag. Established by six seasoned veterans of electronic music and club culture, the label collective included DJ and production team Patrick Bodmer and Philipp Jung (M.A.N.D.Y.), producers Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier (Booka Shade) and studio owner Peter Hayo. Get Physical became DJ T.’s playground, and he played accordingly, driving its dancefloor identity, and honing in on what he labelled the ‘minimal booty house’ sound.

Whether DJing in his hometown Berlin, or gigging internationally, DJ T.’s sets are invariably stirring and extraordinarily varied. DJ T. is no style fascist, nor is he a slave to trends; he is a bass- and groove-addicted club historian, with a firm grasp of the contemporary. His sets turn 25 years of electronic music history into one finely rendered journey, transforming the links between genres and ages into a truly physical experience, whether he’s capturing the peaktime party spirit, or sending early morning crowds into veritable delirium with one of his famed marathon excursions.

Shaun Reeves:

Shaun Reeves is an enigmatic pioneer who’s trailblazing quest to export his unique brand of cosmic underground house and techno from his hometown of Detroit to Europe and beyond has brought him international acclaim. Alongside best friends Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Seth Troxler he has helped put a warm, esoteric spin on the city’s musical heritage taking it away from clinical minimalism, back towards warmer, more spiritual party music. Together they have formed Visionquest, a genre-busting four-piece DJ combo, live act, record label and forward-thinking school of thought.

Since his move to Berlin, Shaun Reeves has been enthralling audiences on both sides of the Atlantic with his own highly distinctive mixture of American house, both classic and contemporary, and the deepest, most cutting edge aspects of post-minimal techno and tech-house. In addition to playing in Berlin’s celebrated Panorama Bar, Watergate, the legendary Beatstreet loft parties and holding his ‘Soul Shower’ summer residency at Club Der Visionaere, he has appeared at DC10 (Ibiza), Fabric (London), Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), Cityfox (Zurich), Sankeys (Manchester) and played for Wolf+Lamb at The Marcy Hotel (NYC). He’s about to add krankbrother to that list!
