Sasha Dive….

Whenever you start to think that dance music – Techno or House or Detroit and Berlin – is better suited for elderly people, suddenly there is a silver light on the horizon. And at the moment, it is Sascha Dive who is shining really bright. This young man from Frankfurt and his label Deep Vibes Recordings is among the most promising new producers and companies in Germany at the moment who, despite clear references to early U.S.-American sounds, all have found their very own rhythm and style by now. And so has Sascha Dive (this is actually his real name!).

Long before he turned 18 years old, he was deeply thrilled by the tapes his brother brought back home. He wanted to learn everything about this exciting music and hot nights out in clubs and at parties, for example Omen, XS, Wild Pitch Club or Robert-Johnson or DJs such as Ricardo Villalobos. And finally, Sascha Dive made his way into the coordinate system of Motor City in a more or less roundabout way. Records from Moodyman, Theo Parrish and Cie. telling stories about snoddy soul, flaky disco or shaking samplers are as inspiring to him as the dry funk and the abstract sounds from U.K. artists such as Baby Ford or Thomas Melchior.

The inventive joint between these two styles can be found in Sascha’s highly appreciated productions. Not to mention that he runs his label Deep Vibes Recordings all by himself and in a very characteristic style when it comes to artwork, A&R, remixes and productions. Moreover, he can look back on a number of extremely successful remixes and tracks released on labels such as Raum…musik and Drumpoet Community. Dive soon became famous for his first-class, deep House sounds with references to Scott Ferugson or master Tony Rodriguez. The reaction was enormous and rather unusual for this almost nihilist and cynical daily business and its innumerable records and releases.

As a DJ, Sascha Dive does not hesitate to combine new and old, America and Europe, light grooves and finest melodies. He does not care whether a record is 10 years or 10 days old. What counts is its aesthetics and if the results fits in his sophisticated dramaturgy and subtlety of his set. Dive’s DJ sets are characterized by his knowledge of Afro-American dance music he skilfully translates into the empiricism of the European club scene and sociology that is becoming more and more expressive …

Anthea….

It seems these days you’ll find Anthea (UK born and raised) more at home in the electronic capital Berlin.
Once the girl to buy your records from at Phonica Records in London, now you’ll find her doing A&R for the Berlin based label Brouqade and releasing on labels currently such as; Desolat, All Inn, One Records , Air London, and her now home label; Brouqade.

With some great releases under her belt on; Freak n Chic, Tuning Spork, Cecille Numbers, Phonica and Mojuba Records, you know that Anthea is a woman that knows her craft – with an emphasis on creating, not imitating.

Those who have seen her at Fabric, Panorama, Ghoa Beach, Watergate, Harry Klein, Circoloco UK, Space Ibiza, and Underground Ibiza to name a few, know that she demonstrates sophistication and powerful energy behind the decks.
Inspired by artists such as Mr G, Baby Ford, Ricardo Villalobos, Derrick Carter & Rhythm & Sound she has created a sound somewhere lodged between house and techno; that is deep, warm and bassline fueled.

Rui Da Silva

Rui da Silva has long been recognized as one of Portugal’s most precious exports. His name is now synonymous with quality dance music. Since 2000 when Rui unleashed the gargantuan number 1 hit single ‘Touch Me’ onto the dance scene, his name has shot to stellar proportions as one of the world’s best tribal/progressive DJs and producers.

Rui’s debut release in ’92 was experimental to say the least. Rui admits, “I was into things like Japan, David Sylvia, Brian Eno and Sonic Youth. The first record I did was the result of some experimental jamming sessions. I had a bass and an amplifier and I sold them and bought a drum machine and sampler…we pressed a couple of copies”. From those humble beginnings tinkering with electronics, Rui formed a new label, ‘Kaos Records’. Rui’s innovative and quality sounds elevated ‘Kaos’ to the pinnacle of the house movement, while securing him a licensing to the late ‘Tribal Records’ and more recently to ‘Twisted Records’ (USA). Rui’s success with ‘Kaos’ ensured global exposure and provided him with the confidence to develop the ‘Underground Sound of Lisbon’ with close friend, DJ Vibe. Through USL’s underground classics, including ‘So Get Up’, ‘Dance With Me’, and ‘Are You Looking For Me’, in addition to numerous compilations and remix’s, Rui filled a void in a country better known for its port and sandy beaches.

Disgruntled with a local club scene that was becoming more of a distraction than an inspiration, he left Portugal in 1999 to immerse himself in London’s booming music industry. Rui believed that this was “where things are happening, where more people are exposed to my music.” London, needless to say, was smitten with the newcomer, and Rui quickly established a considerable following and a high level of exposure, ultimately enabling him to set up a new label, ‘Kismet Records’ in 2000.

‘Kismet’, a Turkish word for ‘fulfillment of destiny’, not only represents anyone committed to that genuine underground house sound, but also heralds the fulfillment in destiny of its label owner, Rui Da Silva. Kismet has garnered praise and a loyal following from the dance industry because of the genuinely underground nature of the tracks. Some of the biggest names in clubland support the label including Danny Tenaglia, Sasha and John Digweed. Since it’s first release, ‘The Lights’ (USL), Rui has started an label collaboration with Chris Coco a long standing friend who has given himself the name CocoDaSilva. ‘Kismet’s’ success was further fuelled with their fourth release, ‘Touch Me’ which went straight to number 1 in the pop charts and turned out to be a massive crossover success. It subsequently won a Muzik award for being the biggest single in 2001.

2002 has seen Rui spend as much time in the studio as out fine-tuning his turntable skills. His DJing career has got busier than ever and takes him all around the world. This Summer has seen Rui play all the top clubs in Ibiza including Amnesia, Pacha and Space. He is warming up for a Tour of the Far East and his Djing is taking him to countries all around Europe.

Rui’s skills as a re-mixer are also highly sought after. He has worked with Djs and pop stars from Danny Tenaglia to Jennifer Lopez. Yoko Ono has also approached Rui to rework “Walking On Thin Ice” the last track that she and John Lennon worked on before he was murdered. It will be released in Spring 2003 at the same time as Rui’s next release, “Feel the Love” which is set to replicate the same kind of success as “Touch Me”. In other words, Rui Da Silva is set to take over the world.

ThanksMate

“ThanksMate” is a bond formed by two very talented producers and DJs from Italy in 2011.
The expression of “ThanksMate” has derived from a culture and country that has given them the opportunity and freedom to formulate their music ideas together. Thus, ThanksMate was born with an objective to produce and show their fans their gratitude for their passionate support.

Fabio Agostini originally comes from a Dark Techno background in which he has been placed on some of the most important labels such as Elektrax Recordings and Naked lunch to name a few.
He is also heavily supported by other famous DJs with the likes from Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Chris Liebing, Alex Karakasis and many more. He has also entered strongly several times on the Beatport top 50 in the Techno category. His latest release was with Nachstrom Schallplatten and platimum records.

On the contrary, Merko Palomba has gathered an extensive wide range of experience within the Deep house scenario with a release out on Globox from Sasha Carassi and supported by Jeff Samuel,Ralf and many others.

This has then resulted in a fusion taste for music in which they have integrated their mix of passion and devotion for electronic music into a fresh new and funky beat that will let you jump all night long. Already having spinned together with DJs like Troy Pierce, Matt Tolfrey, Glimpse, Danny Benedittini and many more. These duo are hungry for music, always in search of new ideas and for that perfect drop, they will be releasing their taste of fusion music very soon. So watch out for this two very talented DJs as they ready to shake the world of music up.
