After our infamous Halloween soiree at the Hoxton Basement we left you thinking, questioning perhaps even panicking as to whether we were to ever return…

Flying in from Frankfurt, we are very pleased to have Cocoon’s Patrick Kunkel to the decks. His phenomenal Cocoon digital bonus mix for “The Sound of the 11th Season” – with an almost 80-minutes-mix made from 20 tracks of the label’s history is a time bomb to tear up dancefloors. The English connection comes from the hands of west London’s Bushwacka! Bushwacka needs little introduction to anyone involved in the London club scene, he has been sharing nights with Layo for more than 15 years at the The End nightclub and their new common warehouse project, Shake It. The local touch comes from the hands of Maura, the super stylish resident of Excuse the Mess who’s just signed up on ‘Leftroom’ label; Maura really is a future star! Last but by no means least, residents Ale Doretto & Alex Kleve will play a very special B2B set, hell bent on expressing their musically tainted joy of our return to the dance floor.
What can we say, with all these ingredients we have a winning recipe for an ace night. Make sure you don’t get left behind, this is sure to be an event so grand, so full of rhythmic splendour you shall never wish to leave. Alas, all good things come to those who wait….
Patrick Kunkel
The musical roots of Patrick Kunkel are based in 1997 and connected with the project B-Side together with his former partner. Intending to avoid any confusion with other bands, the project was renamed to the Nut Runners, in Germany a synonym for freaky people working with machines. In summer of 2001 both decided to go seperate ways. After a half year break Patrick is back on track since winter 2001. He has changed his sound completely, more straight ahead techno, but also taking in influences from house music.
Some time later – in early summer 2002 – he released his first remix on A45 Records, which was done together with Dirk Redmer aka schnick S. from the U60311 club for Heatwave’s Boogie Nights. In the following year Patrick met Harold Todd from the Lenny Kravitz band and, following to their passion to house music, they set up the project Sexy Pie.
Patrick started to focus on studio work again with his former partner M.in. and so, in the late summer 2009 several records were released on Micro.fon, International Freakshow and keinemusik.
In the following year Patrick is still hard working in the studio and so in April 2010 his first remix on Cocoon Recordings was released. Several other releases followed, amongst them his EP on Circle Music „Express
Bushwacka!
Bushwacka needs little introduction to anyone involved in the London club scene, from the early days engineering for MR C’s Plink Plonk label to his own prolific output on his Plank as well as XL and Olmeto with his partner Layo, Bushwacka is a force of nature, from San Paulo to Shoreditch guaranteed to make a room pulsate with energy and excitement. Anyone who visited the End’s Flagship night All Night Long to the brilliant Shake It Warehouse parties to Electric Santa spectaculars knows what sort of night is in store with Bushwacka at the controls, Hold on tight and enjoy the ride….
Maura
Maura has had a captivating presence on the London music circuit for years. With a release on Leftroom Records under her belt, she is cementing a name for herself in London and abroad. Standing out for spinning vinyl, she plays from the heart regardless of musical trends, showcasing a carefully researched and timeless selection. Starting as co-promoter and resident of !KNUF together with Jordi Mas, their regular soiree in East London hosted many respected headliners. Maura’s dynamic sets and signature deep sound have gained her spots in London’s hottest parties, playing alongside industry heavyweights such as Guti, Argy, Matthias Tanzmann, Christian Burkhardt, DJ W!ld, and Ekkohaus to name a few.
