Dimensions Festival Launch with Floating Points, Mala, Alexander Nut at TBA East London | 1st June
Hosting the main room on the night will be Eglo Records who have been on a roll as of late after recently celebrating their label’s third birthday and being responsible for one of 2011’s most discerning releases, the Shadows EP by label co-founder Floating Points. He will be spinning his trademark selection of rare Funk and Disco as well as off-kilter House that has seen him inspire crate diggers and vinyl lovers alike. Label-mate Alexander Nut, who’s Saturday afternoon slot on Rinse FM has become somewhat of a one-stop shop for the Eglo sound, is known for his unpredictable sets that range from Hip-Hop to House to Broken Beat and beyond whilst Funkineven’s futuristic take on House will be a journey through Acid and mercurial Funk. DMZ head honcho Mala will be making a special guest appearance alongside the Eglo camp on the night and based on past performances we can expect nothing but a barrage of unreleased dubs from one of Dubstep’s true originators. His well-renowned attention to low-end vibrations and frequencies will be warmly welcomed by our bespoke Sound Services soundsystem so get your earplugs at the ready.
Room Two see’s burgeoning warehouse promoters Beat Dimension put forward-thinking Bass shoulder to shoulder with no-holds barred House/Techno. Enlisting the talents of (recently resurrected R&S Offshoot) Apollo signing Synkro, Exit Records’ Indigo and a mysterious artist known as Echer to represent. Leeds native Youandewan, who has released on Hypercolour and remixed for the likes of Midland, will also be on hand to lay down his warehouse friendly selection that focuses heavily on the percussive and bass heavy end of House and Bass Music.
