Colin Dale Bio:

Colin Dale’s foray into music was inevitable. His family were heavily influenced by soul, reggae, jazz, and funk, and he attended school with future musical gurus Fabio, Grooverider, Dave Angel, and Bryan Gee.
In 1982, working in the banking industry, Dale became the opening DJ for hip hop legend, Tim Westwood, at the cult Soho nightclub, Gossips, spinning cuts from Donna Summer, Soul Sonic Force, and Strafe.
Three years later, Dale was a major player in forming the iconic radio station, Kiss FM. Its success enabled him to leave his banking job, and establish the ‘Abstrakt Dance’. This ground-breaking radio show ran for 16-years, bringing Techno to the masses, and showcasing DJs such as Richie Hawtin, Dave Angel, Lauren Garnier, Carl Craig, Carl Cox, and others. Abstrakt Dance took to the Internet in 1993, and Dale became one of THE staple names in techno all over the world. His techno show was the first to be transmitted and streamed live with visuals and proved to be revolutionary. Many DJs have followed suit, but Dale was the pioneer.

Teaming up with Brenda Russell and Colin Faver, Dale then began to run ‘Deep Space’ nights in clubs throughout London, and techno was hoisted to a whole new level.Dale has been involved in dozens of club nights over the years, including Electric Boogie, Vapour Space, Deep, and Jelly. As a producer, he has recorded for labels such as Obsessive, Logic, Sensei, Visitor, Swag, Laus, Alien Funk, and was heavily involved in Perfecto Records very first LP (see discography).

Dale’s career has taken him all over the globe, playing in Japan, China, Russia, Australia, USA, Eastern Europe, and at the luminary clubs Fabric, Rex, Pasha, and Love (Brazil). He’s appeared at world events, including Dance Valley, Full Moon, Tribal Gathering, Sunrise, Energy, The Love Parade, Automatik @ the Rex Club in Paris, Rage @ Heaven, Bloc Festival, Glade, and Dragon Ball. He also appeared as the special guest at Paul Van Dyke’s club in Berlin, ensuring that Colin Dale is a name synonymous with techno and dance music globally.

2011 was another big year for the DJ. He and Jules Dickens established the Abstrakt Dance label and website. Dale also played regular sets at Fabric, House of Honey, East Village, Jamm, and The Egg Club in London.

In 2012, he continues to give the masses the music they crave at clubs and events across the world. He’s a very active component of Wildlife AM and the London DSTP Warehouse Parties, which are causing a furore amongst the clubbing community. He is also continuing to release new music on the Plastic City, Influential House, and Evasive record labels, as well as still being heavily embroiled in remixing other artists work. He has a sample/loop CD on Monster Records (distributed by LoopMasters) due for release in June 2012.
