Sat Jul 14 – The South London Soul Train once again turns things up to 11 and invites you to get seriously funked up and positively get down, as your dancefloor toasting host with the absolute most JAZZHEADCHRONIC welcomes one of Europe’s hottest and funkiest bands, the unstoppable LEHMANNS BROTHERS (LIVE) here to sonically demolish The CLF Art Cafe.
LEVEL 1 – THE LEHMANNS BROTHERS (LIVE).
THE LEHMANNS BROTHERS are THE funk band to follow! Winners of the Shure Call for Legends-Live band contest, they had the opportunity to perform this summer at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
Their show is a huge festive mass placed under the saint patron: The Groove. Awaking subtle jazz melodies, funk of the 70′, with a small touch of hip-hop and neo-soul, they appear on stage and deliver like wild fire, their intent – to get the crowd to dance and go crazy to the rhythm. Prepare yourselves!
LEVEL 2 – Funks gonna hit the fan, as rare 45″ vinyl junkies, The Legendary SNOWBOY + Mighty BEN GIBSON drop more platters that absolutely still matter and wait for the sweat to fall. The finest selections in groove and downright nastiest in Funk, served up and delivered direct to the dancefloor. ALL NIGHT LONG.
LEVEL 3 – Enter The REACH UP DISCO WONDERLAND. Legendary DJ ANDY SMITH + NICK HALKES & CRISSY KYBOSH dropping 80’s boogie, soul, funk, disco and proto house, evoking the spirit and dipping into the soundtrack of legendary NYC clubs such as ‘Paradise Garage’ & ‘Studio 54′.
The SLST 4 Floor Line up completed in the Rye Wax basement – HAWAIIAN BOP DJs RICHIO SUZUKI, Acid Jazz legend EDDIE PILLER + 45 slinger OSCAR ROMP taking you on an epic strictly retrolicious Rock & Roll, 50’s R N’ B, 60’s Soul & Motown, Vintage Ska & Latin journey from the love side. Aloha baby!
