Sat Jun 23 – The South London Soul Train takes a bow, rises up and invites you to throw your hands in the air, as we celebrate the too damn funky soul music of one of the premier cities of US Soul – your host with the absolute most JAZZHEADCHRONIC welcoming stage destroying Parisienne Funksters ECHOES OF… Performing “ECHOES OF PHILADELPHIA” (Live) + MOCHI MEN at The CLF Art Cafe.

ECHOES OF… For 2 years now, the french funk band “ECHOES OF” has been leading a very successful and phenomenal monthly residency called “Funk & The City”, in the most famous jazz club in Paris, the NEW MORNING (where the best international jazz, funk, soul artists have performed).
The young cats of ECHOES OF are paying tribute to the american cities of funk (songs between 1975 and 1985) in a very unique, original and ambitious way, covering and reviving songs not often performed live and this time we explore the sounds of PHILADELPHIA. This band are hot folks, so get ready to have yoh soul blown wide open.
Then on LEVEL 2 – The Right Honourable Minister of The Rare 45 and all round bad ass DJ SNOWBOY and Northern Soul supremo – the Legendary ROB MESSER drop it like it’s hot all night long. Delivering a white hot pallet load of vinyl on yehs and waiting for the sweat to fall.
LEVEL 3 – We hand over to the always tasty DISCO FREAKS serving up a hefty portion of DISCO, DISCO and more DISCO. Chic to Earth Wind & Fire via Rick James, Donna Summer and beyond!
The SLST 4 floor line up completed in the Rye Wax Basement by DJS from the highly influential record label WAH WAH 45s DJ DOM SERVINI & SCRIMSHIRE serving up more delicious piping hot joints from the world wide underground. The absolute finest in soul, funk, groove and boogie – Strictly on the good foot.
Runs 10pm – 5am / £5-13 Adv from RA or £15 OTD.
