Hip Hop Turns 45 * Bank Holiday Party at | 6th May
Yes yes y’all! On Bank Holiday Sunday we’re throwing a 45th birthday party for one of the biggest musical revolutions of the last half century – Hip Hop.
BUT, unlike your Auntie Susan’s 45th birthday party, we’re going to be dropping it like it’s hot in a very different way.
Our soundtrack will be provided by three heavyweights of the London DJ scene:
MATMAN:
DMC Champion DJ Matman will bring his impeccable turnable skills to the party. He’s shared stages alongside legends such as De La Soul, Estelle, Jazzy Jeff, Run The Jewels, Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy and The Pharcyde.
DJ SNIPS:
Snips is one of the UK’s most prominent and prolific DJs, having performed alongside several US heavy hitters including Kanye West, Mos Def and the Black Eyed Peas.
CHRIS READ:
Not only is Chris curator of some of the baddest collections at BBE Records, he’s also the founder of WhoSampled and one of the most prolific mix DJs on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
