Friday 23/June * Sublive return to Shoreditch for the next instalment of our residency at Old St. Records ft. Byron, Plume, DJ Pilo Adami (Nubiyan Twist) & SUBMIT residents.
Headlining this instalment is a long awaited set from BYRON. Existing in a recognisable yet polar opposite universe, Byron freely champions a hybrid sound – unshackled by the restraints of an informed, yet misdirected algorithm of a palatable marketing machine. Byron is an artist who believes Music and art are not the property of race, sect or culture but a story that’s been passed from person to person, via continents, over time. Byron describes his music as Noir Wave. Taking inspiration from alt and synth pop. Byron blends global beats and a DIY sensibility searching for the perfect song.
PLUME step up in support travelling down from the premium grade musical metropolis of Manchester. A slick 4-piece blending live electronica with soaring vocals and dubbed out pedal twiddling action. SUBMIT HQ are seriously impressed with these newcomers, not to be missed!
Pilo Adami of Afrobeat/Neo-Soul heroes Nubiyan Twist steps up to the wheels of steel to deliver an unadulterated set of Afro & Groove leaning dancefloor fire. Get ready to bust some serious shapes.
As per standard operating procedure SUBMIT residents will be spinning executive level dancefloor selections on the basement Funktion 1 rig. Expect tightly coiled mix of Bass heavy House & Techno heaters and a smoke machine operating at maximum capacity 😀
