Sat Jun 24 – The South London Soul Train packs the crates, crosses the tracks and heads to London Bridge for the first of hopefully many specials at new multi-room venue OMEARA London Bridge. This time it’s a SLST Brass Band Special, your host JAZZHEADCHRONIC joined by original brass wielding maniacs, the mightily impressive DON’T PROBLEM BRASS BAND. LIVE! Part of our on-going mission to seriously move your mind and body + force feed your soul with the absolute best of times [this time] at OMEARA London Bridge.
Room 1: JAZZHEADCHRONIC dropping an extended eclectic brass driven set of the absolute finest in Brass and New Orleans-spired Fonk with pace and maximum taste for absolute max dance floor satisfaction. The sounds of The Hot 8 to Youngblood Brass Bands served up hot, hard and heavy – with a side ah soul source, Disco + more. Earth Wind & Fire to Stevie Wonder via Fred Wesley & The JBs.
The Jazzhead joined by new brass band on the stage destroying block DON’T PROBLEM BRASS BAND. DPB Made up of key players from several of London’s finest brass acts [past and present] and are, simply put, a stunning band of musicians, who are truly on the top of their musical game + we can’t wait to witness them sonically demolish the SLST Live stage.
Then in Room 2 – Let the Funk mercilessly flow, as your Legendary Host DJ SNOWBOY + The mIghty ANDY LEWIS drop 45s and seriously conquer. [The dancefloor that is] 7 hours of prime cut funk, groove and soul unleashed without mercy, live and direct to the whole of your soul.
The SLST Brass Special line up completed in Room 3 – The Northern Soul Room. 45 junkie ROB MESSER + GUESTS dropping more heavyweight northern soul joints of epic proportions and waiting for the the dancefloor to quake and spectacularly fall.
