Sat May 13 – The South London Soul Train keeps coming on strong, hitting you positively hard all night long with 4 floors and 5 carriages, locked, loaded and ready to take no prisoners. An all out assault on all of yours senses, as we continue our on-going mission to move your mind and body + force feed yoh soul with the absolute best of times at The CLF Art Cafe.
Level 1 – Your host with the absolute most JAZZHEADCHRONIC dropping another payload of funk, soul, groove, disco, brass, breaks, beats, latin n’ hip hop and waiting for the audio shrapnel to hit! DEEP! JHC joined by equally righteous DJ NIK WESTON and one of the filthiest, funkiest bands anytime / anywhere The LEFTIES SOUL CONNECTION [Live].
LEFTIES SOUL CONNECTION are a Dutch funk band. Their sound is heavily influenced by the Meters and funk and soul groups from the ’60s and early ’70s, along with hip-hop bands such as the Roots and the Beastie Boys, while the heavy organ sound resembles American jam band Soulive.
Their own distinct hard and extremely funky sound has earned them a reputation as one of the best modern funk bands on the face of the planet today and we truly can’t wait to welcome them to The SLST Live Stage.
Then [and not to be outdone] Level 2 gives way to the mighty SNOWBOY + BEN GIBSON taking you on an epic safari ‘back in time’ to the land of The Funk Pit and Vinyl45o’saurus for max dancefloor satisfaction.
Level 3 – It’s time for THE HAWAIIAN BOP TRIP – DJs RICHIO SUZUKI & ALDO VANUCCI taking you on a strictly retrolicious Rock & Roll, 50’s R N’ B, 60’s Soul & Motown, Vintage Ska & Latin journey from the love side.
The SLST 4 Floor Line up completed in The Rye Wax Basement with REACH UP DISCO WONDERLAND. DJ ANDY SMITH + GUESTS drop 80’s boogie, disco & photo house, evoking the spirit & dipping into the soundtrack of legendary NYC clubs like Paradise Garage & Studio 54.
