Sublive head to Old St Records – Shoreditch for a night of Soul, Hip Hop, Funk, Jazz, Broken Beat & beyond ft. beatmaster extraordinaire Eric Lau plus live music from Poppy Ajudha & Oscar Jerome.
Eric Lau is hands down one of our favourite artists. Expertly mixing Roy Ayers into Jay Dee bangers, D’Angelo to Madlib via Fela Kuti, Eric Lau blends together a world of Jazz indebted sounds and grooves that inspire crowds to cut some serious shapes whilst grinning from ear to ear. In addition to 3x instrumental LPs Eric is onto his 3rd full length record with the release of ‘Examples’ via the ever excellent First Word Records. Our favourite tracks are too numerous too mention, but we have to highlight his always superb collaborations with Rahel & Tawiah.
In support we have live sets from two rising stars of London’s flourishing Neo-Soul & Hip Hop scene – Poppy Ajudha & Oscar Jerome.
SUBMIT residents will be playing an eclectic mix of dancefloor moving tracks down in the basement throughout for those of you who want to keep your underground music to underground locations!
