fabric Presents: Jon Hopkins (DJ Set) & Demdike Stare
    fabric - London - 07/04/2017 23:00-07:00
    Event Info:

Room One prepares for a rare appearance from a pioneer of contemporary electronics as Jon Hopkins lands in EC1 for the first time in our history. As a producer defying genre or style, Hopkins has become one of electronic music’s key figures for his bewildering fusions of techno, ambient and IDM. Aside from his solo work, his extensive talents have also seen him working with some of electronic music’s most influential figures – namely the ambient figurehead, Brian Eno. After earning acclaim for his Mercury Prize nominated ‘Immunity’ LP and touring with his live set extensively, Hopkins has since gone behind the decks to present his singular sound. He makes his Farringdon debut with a special headline set in Room One. Joining Hopkins is the Raster-Noton and Stroboscopic Artefacts artist Kangding Ray bringing his ethereal and techno punctuated live set, as well as EC1 regular Volte-Face.

Room Two heads down the rabbit hole of raucous rave as Demdike Stare leads the bill. Following the release of last year’s respected ‘Wonderland’ LP on Andy Stott’s lauded Modern Love label, the abstract jungle and techno mashing duo touch down in Room Two for their Farringdon debut. They’re joined by the flagbearer of the esteemed Hospital Productions imprint Vatican Shadow who’s set to bring his industrial edged live show to the floor, while Powell will be in tow with his trademark blend of heavy handed and punkish selections.

    Ministry of Sound - London - 08/04/2017 23:00-06:00
    Event Info:

DJ Harvey returns to the Ministry of Sound for his Exclusive London Residency.

DJ Harvey has established himself as an almost prophetic figure in the music industry, since his first London residency ‘Moist’, at the Gardening Club, Harvey has played his now renowned extended sets invoking his love of disco, house, garage and rock records. Moist ended and he became one of our first resident in 1991, the rest, as they say, is history.

Over 25 years have passed and we welcome DJ Harvey back for the exclusive London Residency. Harvey will be gracing the decks in The Box over the course of this year and we couldn’t be happier. Bringing DJ Harvey back home for his London residency for the year has been something we have been working on for some time, expect to hear whatever Harvey wants to play but know that it will be diligently selected to for the crowd’s utmost enjoyment. Harvey’s vast genre-spanning selection means it will be hard to predict what the maestro has up his sleeve, the only thing he demands that that party is in fully swing for the duration of the night.

    Event Info:

New York duo The Martinez Brothers land in the building for their first date of 2017 in Farringdon. After receiving a history lesson on Paradise Garage from their father at a young age, the Bronx pair have long been embellished in the world of house and disco. The brothers first made their name behind the decks in Ibiza as they honed their talent as producers, before launching their own Cuttin’ Headz imprint as an outlet for their distinct rolling sound. As their productions continue to be an avenue for their output, their educated vision and energetic approach to DJing has also seen them become global icons. The Martinez Brothers are joined by Bas Ibellini, the emerging Tuskgee artist and close affiliate to our Bronx headliners. The bill for Room One is completed by our resident Craig Richards.

Room Two awaits an appearance from a seasoned techno veteran as Steve Rachmad returns. With an illustrious career since the 90s Rachmad was a key pioneer for pushing the Detroit-influenced Dutch techno sound. As with those across the pond, his distinctive sound lies in fusing melody and funk with more classic elements. Having put out record for key labels like Delsin and 100% Pure, Rachmad has garnered respect for his smooth productions as Steve Rachmad and via his Sterac alias. Joining him is Matrixxman, the US artist who recently gained recognition for his work across labels like Ghostly International and Spectral Sound. Room Two is rounded off with another techno and house connoisseur as Terry Francis brings his killer selections.

Also upstairs – Club Hiatus room – Let’s take a trip, a club hiatus in fact, to a wonderland of emotions and Balearic embodiment where tempos aren’t judged and genres undefined.

    This month we invite:
    Private Agenda (International Feel).
The Balearic disco-pop aficionados and live act Private Agenda first appeared on our radar after their insatiable release Freefalling / Déjà vu. The international feel affiliated crew continued to deliver a diverse and emotional slew of releases including (personal fav) paralysed, and Little Bird over the last few years. With their smooth and accessible dancefloor flavour we had to invite them in for a DJ set at the Hiatus

Regression Sessions 5th Birthday at Bankside Vaults
    - - 13/04/2017 22:00-06:00
    Event Info:

Regression Sessions announces 5th Birthday for its biggest event to date at Bankside Vaults.

After coming back from a summer of festivals 5 years ago, the Regression Sessions team were perplexed by how throughout summer they met so many people doused in glitter with zero attitude at all, having a ball to some amazing electronic music. Then, come September, it all seemed to be over. All of a sudden clubbing seemed all very serious in dark rooms, everyone dressed in boring clothes. Why couldn’t there be that same festival vibe in a nightclub?

Throughout the years, Regression Sessions’ brand of immersive interactive nightlife has grown in different stages, to the current, production-heavy variation you see today. For each new theme, there are bespoke sets built that are unique to Regression and its parties, and all complemented by a crack team of residents providing an exceptional house and techno soundtrack.

This spring/summer, RS will be celebrating 5 years in the game with a string of festival appearances and dates across the UK, kicking of with its biggest party to date on April 13th at Bankside Vaults in London.

KiNK, Âme, Optimo, Ata Kak, Bicep, Barnt, Dekmantel Soundsystem, Beesmunt Soundsystem and more to play Oranjebloesem Festival on Kingsday

    http://www.oranjebloesem.com/

On April 27th the fourth edition of Oranjebloesem Festival will take place in Amsterdam during Kingsday. For three years in a row Oranjebloesem has been the perfect alternative on this national holiday, by distancing itself from Amsterdam’s crowded city centre. This year the festival offers a great line-up of live acts alongside the customary underground electronic programme.

Oranjebloesem will be held at Amsterdam’s city beach Blijburg, where 4 stages will offer an amazing line-up, providing the perfect balance between the world’s best DJs and most thrilling live acts.

One of the stages will exclusively showcase live acts. Amongst many others, Jungle by Night (NL) and African cult band Ata Kak will be performing their own signature sound. KiNK and Âme, #1 and #4 ‘electronic live act’ according to Resident Advisor, are the ultimate headliners of the day.

“Live acts complete the experience and make the visitors’ experience even more intense. That’s why we’ve chosen to dedicate an entire stage to national and international live acts” Oranjebloesem Organisation

Further acts include Bicep (#8 of Resident Advisor’s DJ top 100), Optimo, Extrawelt, Kiasmos and Michael Mayer, and familiar Dutch names like Dekmantel Soundsystem, Tsepo and Beesmunt Soundsystem.

City Sound Project 2017 has been announced and will take place on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th April ? a bank holiday weekend. The event will take place across multiple venues and sites throughout Canterbury, Kent. CSP17 will kick off the UK Summer festival season in the picturesque and historic city centre, being bathed in early summer sunshine.

Headline acts announced so far include, pioneer David Rodigan MBE, indie and festival headlining band White Lies, MOB nominated AJ Tracey, The Rifles, Hidden Charms and Spring King also on the bill.

and the super exciting House Gospel Choir. James Hype will be showing off his wizardry, as well as House and Techno from Detlef and an exclusive showcase from London/Ibiza club brand Solid Grooves (including PAWSA, Michael Bibi and Reelow) and a live techno show from the awe-inspiring Saytek (live) … with many more to join them, along with a huge lineup of local bands and DJ’s.

Established in 2012, City Sound Project brings music of all genres, from electronic DJ’s to live bands, spoken word, street art and more, to the ancient city of Canterbury for a weekend of cultural indulgence unique to the south of England. Previous headliners have included globally renowned Bastille, George Ezra, Mystery Jets, MNEK, Disciples, Duke Dumont, Mike Skinner, Slaves, Gorgon City and Hannah Wants.

The UNESCO World Heritage site of Canterbury City plays host to this boutique festival, with gigs set inside some of the UK’s most unique locations. With stages set inside venues such as the medieval Westgate Towers and a 13th Century Franciscan Chapel, ticket holders can experience music in venues unlike any other in the country.

The festival is hosted on multiple stages within the city walls including chapels, castles, ancient theatres, on cobbled streets, in clubs and pubs. Festival-goers exchange their tickets for a wristband on the day at one of three exchange points, which then gives them access to all parts of the festival.

Once checked in, a lanyard with a full festival program is provided, with a map of Canterbury and directions to all the festival locations and timetable of all the gigs and shows.

‘Secret Sets’ have become a huge part of City Sound Project. These impromptu sets will not be found in the festival’s programme, instead they’re announced minutes before they happen through the official smartphone app and Twitter.

City Sound Project 2017 ticket prices start from £22.50, you can book and find out more at www.citysoundproject.com or find us on social media and the app store by searching for City Sound Project.
